Marsh and Parsons, Tooting - a really good experience!
I recently used the Tooting Bec branch of Marsh and Parson to sell my property and cannot speak highly enough of their Director, Angelo Mulholland. Angelo and Thomas Syms were reliable and honest in their dealings with me, they are both highly experienced agents who know the wider housing market and the local market well and understand the impact of the change in one on the other.
Connor Marney, managed the on-the-ground marketing and sale of my property, an absolute star! Calm and reliable, unfailingly polite and hard working I felt really fortunate having Connor as part of my sales team. A big thank you to M&P, I have no hesitation in recommending you!
I worked with Marsh and Parsons to do a short-term lease. My agent rushed me to send over full funds (deposit and entirety of rent) immediately to secure the flat, warning me that I might not get the place otherwise, so I did. He wrote to confirm that I got the place. A month later, he said that I actually did not get the place as apparently the landlord was no longer renting it out, despite the contract and confirmation. He “generously” — that’s sarcasm — offered to refund the money. When he sent it back, it was short $1k. He refused to do anything else about it. Not only did he fail to fulfill contract obligations and screw me over that way, he also caused me financial loss for the privilege.
They are a load of crooks. They recommended a tenant and gave her a glowing review but it turned out she was out of work and had just been evicted from her previous flat. She then got about a year in debt with us before we could get her evicted. The local branch were just interested in getting their new business commission at all costs. Then their dodgy solicitor would admit no liability and said he would fight it to the end, knowing that the general public do not have the finances to spend £1000s on solicitors and court hearings. Avoid Marsh and Parsons.
Extremely poor experience with an unprofessional agent from Marsh & Parsons. Turned up at the viewing with the wrong keys, knew nothing about the flat or any of the requested information. Even claimed the balcony was South-facing when it was North-facing.
After the viewing they then proceeded to take a week to respond that they still didn't have the information and that the flat was now under exclusive offer. Total waste of time and won't be using this agency again.
Horrendous move in experience of a MANAGED PROPERTY
The WORST rental experience I have ever had from start to finish. In complete shock at the disaster we arrived to after paying almost £10,000 in upfront rent. We are totally stressed and upset from the experience we have had from Marsh and Parsons in Clapham South & Balham.
The property had smashed and broken windows, no locks on any of the bedroom windows, the whole house had not been cleaned and smelt of animal faeces, smoke detector was hanging off the ceiling, carpets are filthy, grease dripping from the extractor fan, the list goes on and on.
Not only had we taken time off work to move into the house yesterday, but we had furniture due to be delivered that we have had to pay to keep in storage for longer. We had parents/partners come down to help us move who also took time off work and it was a disaster.
The whole experience has caused us so much stress and even after members of staff finally visiting the property, we have not been given a timeline of how long before we can move in. We are paying for hotels and staying in alternative accommodation as the house is not safe to move into, but the hotels apparently can't be compensated for!!
I am in utter shock and disbelief about how this has been handled.
The property manager has now actioned the works, which we appreciate, but this should have been done prior to us collecting our keys.
It is illegal to have given us keys to a house in which is unsafe and unfit for purpose.
This is an unfortunate experience we have had and would hope that no one has to go through this.
