Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Very easy to use

Very easy to use. It took only a few minutes to learn how to back up an entire drive. I had no "Cloud" backup experience, and IDrive worked without a hitch. Very good.

Easy and user friendly

Easy and user friendly. I did a lot of research before deciding to go with iDrive. Glad I did. My needs are not very complicated, and didn't want a UI or program that was complicated either. This has been great, easy to use, and I love that I can "set it and forget it". Customer service is very helpful and friendly. Overall, I would say iDrive is a great service at an exceptional value.

iDrive has been my go-to backup…

iDrive has been my go-to backup solution for several years. Their multi-device single account option makes backing up files on all my family's electronic gear simple. Being able to back up and restore from different platforms makes upgrading to new computers a snap. This product makes my e-life simpler.

So far so good!

So far so good! I subscribed two weeks ago and have been slowly working on getting all of my photos backed up (SO MANY!). I have had to pause the backup to go home from the office, then resume when I get there - I'm impressed at the ease of use!

Great amount of storage and price. Still unsure though.

So far I have had a good experience with IDrive. When I signed up I didn’t really understand the limitations for uploads. I wanted to upload folders bigger than 10GB, but the max is 10GB through their desktop app. Also, I am having issues replaying my videos once they are uploaded to the site. They have the check mark and I know my download speed is adequate at 500mbs, but videos load for a long time and then don’t ever play for me. I am also not seeing all my videos uploaded when I sort in the app. I uploaded over 130 videos via mobile and when I sort my timeline by videos I only see about 15-20 of them. I love the amount of space they offer for the price, but these challenges have made me unsure if I will move forward.

Highly recommended!

I left Acronis about a year ago and after having tried and gave up some providers of remote backup service I landed to IDrive and here I will stay. If you need fast, simple, secure and reliable remote backup service, IDrive is your choice. Their software is just perfect, you choose what to backup and schedule your backup activity to be operated automatically; moreover, it has a very light impact on your system resources. The upload speed is very good, as it uses 100% of my upload bandwidth. I live in Italy and from their server IP I can see that my data are stored in Ireland, which assures me that the IDrive service is also GDPR compliant. I've contacted once their support service by email and in less than 24 hours I've got their reply. And finally the price: nobody else in this market has offered me 5TB of cloud storage with unlimited file size at such convenient prices.

Great multi-system backup service. Nice addition of cloud sync service

I am very satisfied with my IDrive experience. After realizing that the external disk I used for local backup was corrupt, I signed up for the online backup service, attracted by the price. The first surprise was the ability to back up various computers with a single account (desktop, laptop, phone, tablet, ... that is an immense advantage. Also, I was not aware of the cloud sync service, and it was another pleasant surprise. So far, the experience has been satisfactory, and I was up and running in a few minutes. There are a few things that I still need to figure out to optimise my backups, but basic backup functionality is really easy to set up.

Moving from Hubic to an affordable and…

Moving from Hubic to an affordable and quality backup system, I chose IDrive. My impressions are great: easy to integrate with Synology and thinking to test IDrive e2, too!!

Great price, great support

I like the fact that you can back up more than one computer on one subscription. The regular price is reasonable for the amount of storage. It was very easy to set up. I had minor difficulty figuring out how I could read the logs but did figure it out. I had a question about a message I was getting and tech support quickly answered my question and explained what I needed to do to stop getting the message.
