Tech support failure

I have been using iDrive for several years to backup our desktop and laptop PC. I have generally been quite happy with the product until now. Seven weeks ago iDrive started failing during online backup of one particular 256MB file. After many interactions with support they referred it to their "backend team". There has been no progress and not a word. I ping them every week and get the same response. I've had to resort to a local backup which I then copy to Google Drive. I will note that this is about 20X faster than IDrive online backup.

So far I am happy with iDrive.

I have only begun using iDrive. I have used other backup systems which seemed confusing to me so that I was never sure I was doing it correctly. So far, I like iDrive because it has a user-friendly interface for someone not really computer-savvy. I can back up to my external hard drive as well as the cloud, both backups can be accessed readily. I can backup on demand or on a pre-selected schedule. I have not yet tried the restore function. I have not yet made a mirror image of my computer, but to back up all my personal data took about 3 hours. Incremental backups take a few minutes. So far I am happy and have recommended iDrive to two people in my life.

Great Introductory Offer & User Friendly…

I got a great introductory offer and the software is more user friendly than the Acronis package I replaced it with. Understandably, the first full backup took a long time. But the second was completed in just five minutes as only amended or new files were needed.

Generally happy all round !

I love the peace of mind of having my stuff backed up, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was because the HD they provided me as part of the IDrive Express service didn't function properly.

IDrive is an excellent application and…

IDrive is an excellent application and very reasonably priced! My backup choices are fast and easy, I prefer not to install an app and use the web browser option, it is the fastest cloud backup I have come across.

Best bang for the buck cloud backup

Easy to install. Simple to manage backup process. Covered my local files and external disks. Took advantage of once a year provided idrive external 5T drive to then store in the cloud. Now have piece of mind for all our family historic pictures, documents, movies etc. highly recommend.

Solid and Easy to use App but slow backup!

I started using iDrive backup about two weeks ago to backup my iPhone 12pro which was 200Gb needed. I like everything the app has to offer! Super easy to use and basic interface. No confusion as to where the data was getting stored. Connecting to my account between my phone and laptop was easy and seamless. The app functionality was strait forward. My only concern was the lag time while transferring large single files. It seemed to take 15-20min just to backup one file. I tried problem solving anything I might be doing on my end that is causing it to slow down, phone connection, phone setting, router, net service, ect. Not finding anything only points me to the app itself. Overall, iDrive storage appears to be solid, tidy, and easy to use. I plan on continuing service next month.

It is very nice service

It is very nice service, easy to use and above all very fast upload. I had to upload all my photos from Samsung phone. It took a lot of time for Google Drive to upload almost nothing. I found idrive and uploaded almost 100GB of photos and videos in a day or a bit more than a day. It was easy to select files (automatically) and all I had to do is to leave the Android app do it all by itself. The download, of course, was even faster when I had to return the files to my phone again.

Very easy to install, easy to use, very simple procedures for backing up your photos, documents or other. Their servers support large files in Jpeg and Raw format. Most importantly great price point for the size of the cloud storage.

Not a good service in India

Not a good service in India Servers are in Ireland so upload speed is terrible despite having a 200 Mbps connection, I only get 1-2 Mbps 3 at best. Raised a complaint more than a week ago, no reply yet. Cloud storage is not too different than backup, cannot view files online, have to download them to view them. We can only upload a max file size of 2gb at a time from browser for the cloud storage feature. 2 gb is practically nothing for anyone using this for professional or even personal use. But backup doesn't have a limit for file size and it's not like there's a lot of difference in backup and cloud storage (for Idrive users). Still 2 gb limit is disappointing. Customer care response was immediate when using the chat feature but, they cannot help you with any technical issues for which they will raise a complaint id, which was also done for me but no response in 5 days.
