Very poor service and still waiting for refund. Changed collection venue at short notice, delivered in error and failed to specify when booking that venue closed for returns at weekends. Customer service poor until I finally (after about 2 hours managed to find someone who understood the issue and he was excellent)
Late delivery, no refund.
The machine was cross hired through another supplier, I asked for the machine in the morning on Friday and it didnβt turn up until 16:40 that day, so I effectively lost 1 days hire Iβd paid for. I was lied to constantly by the supplier when I called up to get an ETA, first it was 10am, then 12:30, then 3pm. I called HSS and they assured me I would be refunded for that days hire. When it came to the collection day on Monday the supplier didnβt collect it, I called HSS and they chased them arranging for it to be collected on Wednesday. I then got a call on Tuesday by the driver saying he was there to collect it. I was at work so couldnβt do anything. I then received an email and charge for βfailed collectionβ. Again I called HSS, they eventually refunded the failed collection charge but still did not refund the lost days hire. Miraculously the person I spoke to had no knowledge of this there were βno notes on the systemβ. I offered to provide cctv footage to confirm delivery times etc but they wouldnβt accept this. HSS refused to refund that lost days hire.

Portable Power Washer really does the job!
Hired a compact power washer (from HSS Aylesford, Kent) to clean the paths around my house and patio after the winter period. Was a little cautious as some reviews were suggesting the power of these portable machines were not good enough. This is rubbish! The machine is excellent for really sprucing up paths and patios! I was really pleasantly surprised as well as very happy with the result. (And it is somewhat satisfying using a jet wash to clean a path - and watching the dirt disappear!) I would definitely hire this machine again. Staff at shop all very pleasant and friendly. Booked online and I collected within the hour - which is equally excellent availability

Great service. Pick up and drop off at different locations is extremely useful!
Hired a trolley for moving a washing machine from their Kilburn branch. Mentioned while booking that I was on a train and hiring a van and they said I could return the trolley to my local branch (Oldham; 200 miles from Kilburn). This was fantastically useful and I didn't know one could do this. The staff at both the Kiblburn pick-up and Oldham drop-off were professional and friendly, and the whole experience was a delight!

Zero customer service
Zero customer service. Machine dropped off at the wrong time. Collected at the wrong time. I made 18 separate calls. Most which the CS department literally hung up after speaking with them for a few .minutes. I record all calls automatically. I will NEVER use this or again. Completely unorganised and unprofessional.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service β would not recommend. I ordered a sander that arrived faulty. A replacement was sent the next day, meaning I lost 1.5 days of use. I also ordered extra sandpaper, with the assurance that unused sheets could be returned. 11 sheets (worth Β£30-Β£40) were missing from my order. Due to the delay with the sander, I had unused sandpaper to return. I sent it back but have had to send around 10 emails chasing my refund, with no success. It has now been over two months, and the issue remains unresolved. My last four emails have gone unanswered, apart from automated replies about high email volumes. Shocking service. DO NOT USE! Much more reliable providers out there even if it costs a little more.

Absolutely shocking experience
Absolutely shocking experience. Ordered a floor scrubber for a week to be delivered on Monday (for a five day job to clean church floors so at a deadline) arrived 16:30 on Monday afternoon (church closes at 17:00 so a day lost) without the scrubber attachment and the extras ordered buffing pads and floor cleaner. Called again, will be with me in the morning. 14:30 the next day just the scrubber attachment arrives. Called back to cancel the whole order and told them to collect the order and I expect a full refund. Assured I will get my refund once the collection has been completed. Driver arrived 10am the next day at my home address (should be at the church for collection). Called again to tell them the driver is at my house so rescheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon reading these reviews Iβm thinking I might just tell the driver to hold on for my full refund to be done before they take it away or indeed I will keep the items and let HSS take me to court where I will win the claim and they can then pay my refund along with court costs. Absolutely shocking! They will be losing some huge contracts.
