Useless
Bought some festoon lights for outside, they were installed correctly, however they only lasted 3 weeks.
Home Bargains has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.

I visited the ashington branch. The store was airy and clean . After I selected my goods off I went to the checkout. There were a couple of ladies in front of me and they were greeted with a hello by the checkout lady called jenna. .she was friendly and polite to them and even said thank you. Then it came to my turn what a jekyll and Hyde. I got no greeting I was giving no eye contact I got no please or thank you she was only interested in getting another member of staff on the tills so was talking to her colleague while zapping my products? 2 star service and that's being generous
I visit Home Bargains earlier this afternoon in Albany Road Cardiff, 1 of your staff name Luke ( he maybe a supervisor ) wearing red shirt walked in front of me when me and my son was looking at the shelf to see what drinks to buy, what he could have done is walked behind us and he did not even say 'sorry' or 'excuse me' for doing that, I found that is kind of 'rude' attitude towards customers. You know I work in retail myself so that kind of behaviour is not acceptable.
No school cakes or giant monster munch. Absolutely raging. Not acceptable. This place is terrible.

I visited this store on Monday (4th November 2024), with my parents and my infant baby. When being served at the till, my mother had gone ahead and paid for her goods as I had more items. I was unpacking, whilst at this time, my infant child was in distress so I was trying to check out as quickly as possible. However, your employee, Ryan F, who was serving us, asked the customer behind me if they wanted to go ahead of me because they only had a few items. He could see that my infant child was in distress at this time. I did make reference that this wasnt okay, however he appeared to ignore this. My mother then challenged him and mentioned about the baby being in distress, to which firstly he ignored, therefore my mother had to repeat what she had said to him, to which he then replied “Okay, well I just thought she might have been on her break”. This did not sit well with myself nor my mother, who responded disgusted to his excuse, and again he just replied “okay”. I was appalled by this treatment, especially given that I had a young baby in distress. I dont believe it is the discretion of the employee to decide if a customer should jump the queue and especially in these circumstances. I feel very discriminated against, as a customer and a new mother for this kind of treatment. I reported this via the complaints section on the website. The response I received was that this would be investigated, though I would not be informed of an outcome. I wanted to share my experience as I feel nobody should have to experience this.

They sell some nice items at good prices however I paid for an item I don't have... I bought multiple protein bars and upon getting home and looking at the receipt I have been charged for 1 additional bar. I had 20 bars so a nice round figure and they were in 4 rows of 5 in the box but I was charged for 21. The Item only cost ₤1 so it's not worth the petrol to return/complain in store and I evidently can't prove it now. The store was very busy and I was already held up due to one of my items not having a tag so the cashier had to call another worker who went and got another to scan so I failed to check the receipt immediately. I go in every couple of months for some bars and other bits but don't usually get a receipt so I wonder if this has happened before. Genuine mistake or scamming customers... I guess I'll have to be more vigilant in the future.

You sent me a faulty item which I can’t use!! I am disabled and do not have transport hense why I had to order the item online and have it delivered your solution to sending me a faulty item is I return it to store!! NOT AN OPTION FOR ME or I return it by Evri also not an option why would I pay excess money on a taxi to take the item to the post office then money on a taxi getting home returning your faulty item back to you so I can get my money refunded for your faulty item I would pay more money for the taxi fare than the item cost!!!! How is that fair!!! 😡 then I have to pay ANOTHER delivery fee to order a new item again!! I think NOT!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS OR SENDING OUT FAULTY ITEMS!! SHODDY AFTER OR SHOULD I SAY LACK OF AFTER CARE!! VERY LAST TIME I SHOP ONLINE WITH YOU!! LESSON VERY WELL LEARNED!!!!

Ordered 2 lanterns and a small low cost gift item. The low cost item was delivered but not the two lanterns after waiting 3 weeks I contacted them. The response was we cannot resend items, they were never sent ! I received a refund for the 2 items but the minor £4 item cost me £8 as they didn’t refund the postage. Will never shop with this company again.

We are regular shoppers at Home Bargains and have been since it opened in our town. Today when we went there, we have never seen so many trolleys stacked high with items needing to go out on the shelves. In the snack aisle, no fewer than 6 of these trolleys were rammed tight against the shelves, side by side, totally preventing anyone from seeing any of the goods. We politely asked an assistant if he could move the trolleys so we could see what we wanted. He abruptly told us 'No'. We asked him 'Why?', but he just walked away. We could not believe the level of rudeness! So, my husband and I had to heave these huge trolleys over by ourselves to enable us to see the goods. There were excessive amounts of trolleys in other aisles too. Surely the shelf stacking of this volume should be done at a less busy time? Can I also say that the level of rudeness extended by the cashier on the check out. No eye contact, no greeting, but just continued to speak into his mouthpiece.

Today (29th of October) I went to Home Bargains in Lincoln, on Tritton Road. I am not really going to Home Bargains very often, maybe 3-4 times per year. I like checking my receipt after paying, but as I bought so many goods (spent £159.03), I couldn’t check if the person at the till scanned my goods correctly in the shop. However when I came home, I decided to check my receipt and I found that they had scanned Belgian Choc Stirrers ASTD 3 times instead of 2. I bought only 2 items of Belgian Choc Stirrers, but I was charged and paid for 3. Just I am trying to understand how the cashier managed to scan 3 Belgium Choc Stirrers when they were scanned one by one….it seems an item was scanned twice instead of once? Just wondering if it is usual practice at Home Bargains to choose and scan one item twice who buys many goods for larger sum of money as they know that nobody will notice and they will get away with this? Just wondering how many people they have scammed like this? Also not everyone checks their receipt, so they don’t even realise that they have been scammed….Well, it means I haven’t saved anything by going to Home Bargains as I was scammed by them….very disappointed….so from now I will better stick to the shops where I can scan my goods myself!
