Useless
Bought some festoon lights for outside, they were installed correctly, however they only lasted 3 weeks.
Home Bargains has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and communication.

I visited the ashington branch. The store was airy and clean . After I selected my goods off I went to the checkout. There were a couple of ladies in front of me and they were greeted with a hello by the checkout lady called jenna. .she was friendly and polite to them and even said thank you. Then it came to my turn what a jekyll and Hyde. I got no greeting I was giving no eye contact I got no please or thank you she was only interested in getting another member of staff on the tills so was talking to her colleague while zapping my products? 2 star service and that's being generous
I visit Home Bargains earlier this afternoon in Albany Road Cardiff, 1 of your staff name Luke ( he maybe a supervisor ) wearing red shirt walked in front of me when me and my son was looking at the shelf to see what drinks to buy, what he could have done is walked behind us and he did not even say 'sorry' or 'excuse me' for doing that, I found that is kind of 'rude' attitude towards customers. You know I work in retail myself so that kind of behaviour is not acceptable.
No school cakes or giant monster munch. Absolutely raging. Not acceptable. This place is terrible.

Absolutely shocking!!! Two tills active with about 20 people waiting, can hear the poor till staff asking for more people but no one responded, over head one staff member saying ‘Josh’ was out the back vaping and someone called ‘Diane’ refusing to go on tills. Felt so sorry for the staff genuinely trying to serve everyone with a smile, seen another male casually flirting with a blonde staff member while we was all waiting to pay for our stuff, to top off our experience there was cages and boxes left all over the floor to pack things away I couldn’t get around the aisles! Why isn’t this being done ‘out of hours’ as customers cannot shop comfortably in a mess !!! City link was amazing when it first opened but has gone down hill this past year. I’ve been here multiple times over the last few weeks and have had a similar experience every time so may be quoting a few shopping trips

Was in home bargains in Tranent today and was disappointed at the way I was treated by senior staff. I picked up two tins of heinz cheese beans, that had a large sign beside them saying Heinz flavour beans 2 for £2.00...on paying at cashier I was told they were £1.45 each. On raising my concern a senior staff member refused to do as sign says. She says it is advertised at £1.45 each and she can't do it for any less. I have talked to other shops and they agree that home bargains was in the wrong. I know its probably a little thing but the point is if a shop has a sign saying something it has to follow through.

Been inside this shop a few times the first by chance, the second was deliberate and subsequently. The experience was mostly good. I had one experience where an item was scanned twice but was resolved when I pointed it out. I will put it down to hunan error.

I purchased a Home Bargains gift card for my daughter for Christmas 2024 and what a disaster it turned out to be! The first day she was able to spend it was the 27th of December and she had in excess of the gift card value in her basket. The spend came to £26+ and she presented her voucher. The assistant hadn’t got a clue how to redeem the card and hence the gift card wouldn’t work. The supervisor was called and all items had to be handed back and rang through again. Even with the supervisor talking the cashier through the transaction the gift voucher wouldn’t work. As a massive queue was building we paid with cash and returned later to sort out the gift voucher. I asked for a refund on the voucher as it wasn’t working and initially was told that this wasn’t possible. After over 30 minutes of standing at a check out I was eventually given £20 back after they had verified that this was the outstanding balance on the card. A nightmare experience never to be repeated.

I cannot say I have visited many branches however the Worle Weston super mare branch is very good. Well laid out, prices competitive staff when needed helpful. This is a large branch and possibly more invested here. This is an up market discount store and I think some customers may be looking for a more expensive service.

I was just in Home Bargains in Maidstone-London Road- and was greeted at the checkout by a fantastic member of staff called Chrissy( Christine). She was so helpful and kind, with a lovely warm smile. It actually made my day. I’d just been pushed and shoved by members of the public being selfish, trying to get in front of me and having a member of staff being friendly was lovely. Thank you.

Absolutely shocking, trying to get around the store with at least 8-10 stock cages around the aisles. The poor staff trying to work around this mess is atrocious. Citylink in cardiff used to be one of the best stores in cardiff, now with the stock problem and rude teenagers serving, you will be loosing alot of customers.

Bought car vent air fresheners from home bargains , driving car to work one morning in the dark I heard a pop later that day in the day light I noticed the car vent air freshener had popped leaving the fluid to run down my stereo fasia and mark it and put pit holes in it , so now it needs renewing . I thought if it can do that to plastic what can it do to skin ? I put a complaint in to home bargains explaining what had happened and mentioned what I’ve written above . I asked what are they going to do about the damage and all they replied was have you got original packaging and receipt , I asked why would I keep packaging as it was empty and as for a receipt for such an item I wouldn’t have kept it I wouldn’t even ask in store for one . There reply was nothing we can do because of no receipt or packaging, I mentioned again I thought they are dangerous yet they have just dismissed my complaint . I think customer service is absolutely disgusting and I will never use them again to
