They charge you a subscription fee automatically without you ever signing up for it and make some long winded bs way of going through their site cramming their product subscription down your throat to get your refund back, we will see if I even get the refund back…

I didn't know about any subscription on this but today after having the device for 3 days I get a bill for 99.99 for a subscription.

Scammed by the scam detector

They sell a product to help you avoid being scammed, and then scam you themselves by signing you up for a long subscription and making it very difficult to cancel it. Very disappointed.

Does what it says and even more!

Does what it says and even more! I have a Toyota 4 Runner that had check engine, SVC, and Trac Off lights blinking. I bought the FIXD code reader and in minutes the codes were displayed and I got an email explaining the codes and remedies for each error, etc. After replacing the purge valve and gas cap I reset the codes. No more scary lights. Best $19.99 I ever spent!

This unit did exactly what I had hoped…

This unit did exactly what I had hoped it would. Told me what was causing my check engine light to be on so that I can fix this myself. Well worth the effort.

Not worth the money and poor customer service

Had the unit and the service since 2020, got talked into getting the Premium service. Only thing I've used it for other than a couple of scans was to reset the check engine light. Forgot about the auto-renew in 2021 but didn't realize it until a month or two later so I didn't dispute the charge but like an idiot, I didn't cancel it right away thinking I'll just use the rest of that years service. Now in 2022, I see the charge go through again so I called them literally one day after the charge was made. My first call was with a gentleman that said he was going to try and put the refund through for me but to wait a week for it to go through. Nothing. I call back and speak with a young woman who tells me now that they CAN NOT issue a refund. I asked if there was anyone else I can speak with since I barely used the service before and I tried cancelling and getting a refund the day after it was charged. She said she can escalate the issue and send it to her supervisors and that someone would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. That was Monday, 11/7. Surprise surprise, no one reached back out to me. I call today and I'm told by the gentleman that answered the call that they do not do any refunds once the charge is made. I even asked if there was a way I could be charged for just a month instead of the whole year since I was a day late from cancelling it and he said no and told me it's in their terms and conditions. I explained that any merchant that can charge you absolutely has the power to issue a refund but they're just hiding behind their terms and conditions so in my eyes, it's there for them to keep your money even if you don't want or are not happy with their service. I also asked to speak with a manager or supervisor since I was supposed to be contacted by one a week ago and he informed me he was the supervisor (of course). So I know legally there's nothing I can do. But I've worked in hospitality and customer service for over 20 years and if there's one thing I know, it's that word of mouth is the best way to help or hurt your business. So I will ensure to go out of my way on review websites, social media, and any other outlet I can use to let people know to not purchase or use this service. If I'm going to be spending $70 for a year of service that I'm not going to use, I might as well let other people know as well so the same thing doesn't happen to them. I do want to give a shout out to Tracy who actually helped me cancel the subscription today. She was the one person that actually helped me out of the four people I called and spoke with at FIXD.

Track Expenses

I have the fixd device and i think it is really good that you can track the vehicle diagnostics using the obd. However, I would like to track everything I do to my vehicle. This includes expenses as well. Expenses are really important and it will give even you (as fixd company) a better reflection on how much cost I am predicting for the next maintenance instead of the random figure that you show now. I would like to see registration fees, insurance cost, maintenance cost… basically everything. Also, it would be good to have reminders on the app to remind me before the next time i need to take care of something on the car.

Stay away from premium subscription

The device is fine and does what it’s meant to do but the « premium » subscription is totally useless and is set to auto-renewal without warning. And they don’t warn you a year later before they charge your card again and refuse to refund. Terrible customer service, they play dumb and use scripts to reply to requests. Terrible business practice, stay away.

Their hack company If I could give 0 stars I would this…

If I could give 0 stars I would this company is a hack and a rip off. They charge you for their shifty device that doesn't do anything different then going to auto zone for free. Then they refuse to refund the money they charge for a renewed subscription even though you tried to cancel and requested the refund an hour after it was charged to your account. There device sucks and their customer service sucks even more. Don't waste your money on this piece of crap service you'll regret it trust me I do and I will make sure no one I know will ever deal with hack of a company.

There were obviously things we missed…

There were obviously things we missed in buying this, like you need an expensive subscription to get a full diagnostic. We put it on our daughters van and came up nothing wrong, now it's stuck 30 miles from home on the side of the highway. I hate misleading ads

You guys ROCK!

You guys ROCK! Your little gizmo already saved me some bucks. I have a friend who has a repair shop and he ran his hi-tech reader on it, and the very same code came up. (and it was such an easy fix - the gas cap wasn't sealing properly. He cleaned the gasket and the neck of the fuel filler edge and everything worked just fine, check engine light went out... and he was so nice, he didn't even charge me for it!) If i'd have gone to the dealer who knows how much they'd have hosed me for!
