Used Enact to remortgage. Pretty smooth process, kept informed throughout. Got a response via the messaging option when needed and got through on the phone every time I called. Would use Enact again.

Do not use this company

As with other reviewers, this shoddy outfit have been 'acting' for the buyer of our property. They have sent the wrong information to our solicitor which doesn't relate to our transaction, repeatedly said they cannot give a completion date becasue they don't have the correct information, despite it being sent three times, and failed to answer calls from our buyer and our solicitor. We are on the verge of instructing another conveyancing company and starting all over again, some 10 weeks or so into the process.

Incommunicado!

We have had the misfortune of being in a chain where these clowns were acting on behalf of our buyers. They repeatedly ignored our solicitors. They ignored the estate agent too so we were forced to contact the buyers directly and ask them to contact Enact. They said they couldn’t reach them either and were forced to use an online portal which was unreliable at best. They requested the same information three times from our solicitor and had to be told to stop. When we were trying to exchange, they once again became unresponsive to everyone involved despite saying there were no further enquiries. Needless delays and incompetence which was highlighted by the efficiency of our solicitors and those up the chain who were forced to wait by Enact. Very, very poor.

Avoid unless you have a lot of time!

Not my transaction but I've just had my Mum on the phone in tears yet again due their slowness in dealing with the transfer of a life time mortgage to a new property. The chain is in real danger of collapsing thanks to them.

Slow Slow Slow

The 2nd time in our lives we've ever had anything to do with this lot. First time was our lenders using enact to arrange equity release 2nd time , same scenario but the person we want to buy a house from is holding the chain up for months because he is porting a lifetime mortgage. Our experience with them is dreadful.... Replies never seem to go back to the same individual... they're a sham.

I had a very positive experience with…

I had a very positive experience with Enact, who did the conveyancing on selling a property. I was able to get a hold of the solicitor via text and on the phone when needed. When the assigned solicitor was away, there were others who could help. Their tracking system was really handy also.
