Overall good service
Used Enact to remortgage. Pretty smooth process, kept informed throughout. Got a response via the messaging option when needed and got through on the phone every time I called. Would use Enact again.

Applied for a remortgage with Natwest months ago. A small amount, loads of equity- tiny percentage of property value. Their solicitors Enact are useless. They raised an issue, I resolved it. They didn’t tell me it was resolved, then did through the live chat, then case workers changed their minds during the final checks. I have provided all the necessary evidence from my current provider and Land Registry but it all gets ignored. ‘Computer says no’. Legal acumen is clearly limited. Natwest said it would be sorted in 3-5 days. Ten days later told by Enact not able to progress. Complete waste of time and left me two weeks to look elsewhere! In meantime my mortgage deal runs out and I get stuck with high interest charges! Incorrect interpretation of the legal position confirmed. Now they say my other provider’s legal charge application came and went in between their initial and final searches! Almost laughable. As expected my complaint not upheld - they are right and Land Registry, my current provider and I are all wrong!

Overall the service from enact was quite good. Everything was managed through a secure web portal which meant messages could be sent and received, along with the majority of documents. The only thing that let it down for me was the correspondence being unclear at times. A mixture of communication with real people and automated messages in the same thread was confusing and it would be helpful if the messages were labelled or separated. I would use this service again.

Very poor service. No response , no updates despite several chasers by emails, phone calls, etc. My case has been ongoing from December 2024 to now. My solicitor even got the sellers name incorrect and requested me to sign the wrong contracts.. I even escalated the matter to the complaints department but still no news

Enact really went up a gear near to completion, when things get that bit more stressful and you need them the most. Some of the early stages seemed to go a bit slow, with a switch of person dealing with us, and we were definitely held up by our buyers for a while (not Enacts fault). However in the final week they were outstanding: always available when I needed them and proactive in calling me several times. Very impressed.

Terrible terrible experience. COMPLETELY AVOID. Find people who can talk to you, offices you can visit. There is no visibility, no information with people saying things like "soon" and "it's another team". This is by far the worst professional services experience I've ever had. Nowhere near complete after weeks and weeks of silence and zero activity. I even have First Direct trying to speak to them and unable to find anything more out, promises of calls back unfulfilled. This is close to criminal. You will do better going to your High Street conveyancer because whatever so called value add or IP Enact are meant to have, it doesn't exist. You are TRAPPED in incompetence and total service failure once you start. Save yourself the pain and literally use anyone else.
