Review summary

Diy Artclub receives a mix of feedback, with many customers appreciating the vibrant paint and quality canvases, which provide a fulfilling creative outlet. Reviewers frequently commend the company's customer service, noting quick responses and helpful resolutions to issues. However, there are significant complaints regarding order fulfillment, with several customers reporting damaged goods upon arrival and delays in delivery. Some express frustration over unclear shipping information and the company's policies on returns, which can add to the dissatisfaction. Despite these challenges, many still find joy in the painting experience and express a desire to continue using the products. Overall, while there are notable positives, the issues with order handling and delivery significantly impact the customer experience.

Really enjoyed my DIY-art experience

Really enjoyed my DIY-art experience. Colors were vibrant, product quality was good, easy to read instructions. It gave me the creative outlet I needed, and the final product turned out better than expected. Had questions re: construction of the frame, and they responded quickly with a video and instructions. Very helpful. The only negative is the long shipping times.

Mostly wonderful, just paint consistency lets it down

I have now had 3 large paintings and one set of mini paintings from DIY Art Club. On the rare occasion I've needed to contact customer service they've been first class. I have yet to encounter an international paint by numbers emergency so the shipping time is just fine. It's no longer than you'd expect shipping from abroad to the UK. It's not super sturdily packaged, but nothing's ever been damaged, and the framed kits are much better packaged than the unframed. My only issue, and unfortunately this has happened with every set, is the inconsistency of the paint consistency. Every pot has plenty of paint, and the colours are lovely, but some paints are very thin which means painting the area twice. I usually have to do an extra blob over the number so it's completely hidden as generally these are far too dark for the paint colour. For the enjoyment and price, this isn't the end of the world, but some of the paints are excellent and you would get a far superior finish on your painting if this was always the case.

Helpful & understanding customer service

I ordered the Golden Profile Paint by numbers picture, which take about 2 weeks to be delivered, when it got delivered the box was damaged like it had heavy boxes placed on top of it even though the package had a few fragile sticker on it. Inside the box there were instructions, a few paint brushes and the canvas with the picture on it which was rolled like a tube, but the box arrived, squashed and flatted. When I unrolled the canvas, it had creased/crinkly lines running throughout the picture. I sent Diy art club customers service an email with pictures of proof and explained everything. Customer service got back to me and apologised, they also said it was the delivery company fault. They told me to try a few things to get rid of the creases/crinkles in the canvas and I must let them know if it worked or not. I did what they said but I was not happy with the outcome. So I emailed them back, they apologised and offered me a gift voucher of what I spent with extra. I accepted the offer. I did this because the quality of the canvas the picture is on is very good, the instructions are clear and im still looking forward to painting a picture from this company, the only thing I will do differently when i use my voucher is i will order a wooden frame to stretch the canvas or the versatile wooden easel which I think you need if you don't want pain in your neck from looking down all the time while you paint and it's also good for storage. This company have a 50% offer, which is a good time to buy and try it for yourself.

Quick Customer Service

I ordered a set of 6 small paintings. While i was waiting for the package I got a "delivered" notification so I contacted the customer service and got a very quick reply and suggestions on what to do. All was a false alarm and my package came next day in a very cute little box. Love it! Cannot wait to start painting.

Goods damaged

I placed an order. It was damaged when it arrived and the canvasses are useless. DIY Artclub say they are creased and that I can fix this. It is clear from the photos I sent to diy-artclub that they are not creased, the canvasses are stretched in places which is not fixable.

Given up on this dreadful company

*Final update* I have wasted enough time with this company trying to get an amicable solution to multiple problems. I have offered an olive branch which was totally ignored. Money down the drain. Product not fit for purpose and I wash my hands of it. Learning lesson? Read TP reviews BEFORE ordering in future!

They don’t guarantee delivery

They don’t guarantee delivery. Took a chance and bought a small pack for an evening with girlfriends. I have stage 4 cancer and during treatment haven’t been going to the shops as much so had high hopes for this. After quite some time it states it’s been delivered but it hasn’t. No refund available. Which is what I wanted as they didn’t arrive in time for my gathering. I would avoid purchasing from the UK.

Late delivery - unclear tracking - unresponsive customer service

I wish I had made more effort to research this company (my bad) and read the reviews which are very in line with my experience I came here to report. 2 stars as it is a product I eventually did receive and not a scam. The order arrived too late for a specific evening I was hosting despite indicating a number of times when I needed it for and following up. Tracking details unclear to follow without any indication of at least an estimate day of arrival and however many more points left in the journey. Hard to get in touch with customer service team - ended up getting a reply once when I reached out and then nothing as I kept following up on delivery. All paints ended up arriving late after I no longer needed them and had to spend additional money to order the prints from somewhere else to make sure I had them for my planned evening. Never ended up getting a reply from customer service team. Will never order from here again - unclear delivery info, late delivery, unclear tracking details and unresponsive customer service - all very strong reasons to lose customers. Out of pocket by having to spend more on prints somewhere else and stuck with prints I no longer need.

I’m writing a follow up review after a…

I’m writing a follow up review after a fairly positive experience with these guys the first time around. After getting some lovely Halloween minis from DIY Artclub, I followed up with a second order for Christmas. This was on 1st December. I ordered some ‘premium’ paintbrushes, a lamp, a custom painting for my partner of our family, and a set of Christmas minis for the kids to do over the school break. The paint brushes were hollow, far from premium and they turned up bent and damaged. Those were refunded. The lamp turned up about a week after Christmas. Though it’s great, it doesn’t fit on any of our tables or work surfaces. The Christmas paintings never showed up and after a few emails I said not to bother with them as they’d arrive after Christmas. As for the custom painting (which I paid £50 for) well, that got here 7 weeks after I ordered - we were about 3 weeks into January. I was so upset my partner’s present didn’t show up on time. They realised around Christmas time that they never even dispatched the paintings and asked me if I still wanted them with a 10% discount on future shops, which is their standard offering anyway - they give everyone 10% off when they have made an order! I asked for more, I didn’t get it. I wouldn’t mind, but I had to explain myself almost every time I followed up on it. It took about 15 emails. The customer service team seem really lovely, but my goodness it was a lot. I ordered 4 things, they turned up in 3 deliveries over 7 weeks and the main present I wanted was the latest. That painting was the only reason I ordered the other stuff, it’s actually almost funny now. What a mess. DIY ARTCLUB have lovely lovely paintings and paints. I do like their main product. But their accessories are not great and they are super disorganised on the delivery front. If they don’t get it together they will not survive as a business. I was a fan, but now I’m not. Order at your peril.

Customer service is fantastic

Sarah's customer service is fantastic. I've painted a few now and have been happy each time. I've had a couple of small issues (a lost legend, and a solid paint tub). Both issues were fixed quickly and without problem. I was going to put the paintings in the back room but happy to have them out in my lounge room I like them so much.

Delivery took over two weeks

Delivery took over two weeks, without noting how long delivery takes on checkout page. Would not have ordered if knew it would take so long - 1* due to misleading and not clearly advising long wait! T&Cs advise 10-20 days but this isn’t stated when buying, only within the link to T&C.

Such a fun activity to do with my daughter

I can only speak from my own experience but I’m surprised by the negative reviews and so glad they didn’t put me off buying from this company. Ordered mid Feb, a set of 6 and a larger canvas, they arrived separately, one took 2 weeks and the other 2 and a half, I was updated every step of the way and when I sent an enquiry about delivery the response was within half an hour. I started the bigger canvas today and couldn’t be happier.

Great product

Wife loves it, really easy to use and has come out looking amazing, had a hiccup with delivery saying it was delivered but it hadn’t been (courier not company) and got on to customer services who Immediately replied and chased down the order for me and it was delivered the next day, lovely company!

I am quite surprised by some of the bad reviews

I am quite surprised by some of the bad reviews as I have been very pleased with the two kits I have received so far. Much better paint quality than I have experienced from other sellers which have been frustratingly thick and/or watery. Didn’t think much of the brushes, but I have my own anyway.
