I’m writing a follow up review after a fairly positive experience with these guys the first time around. After getting some lovely Halloween minis from DIY Artclub, I followed up with a second order for Christmas. This was on 1st December. I ordered some ‘premium’ paintbrushes, a lamp, a custom painting for my partner of our family, and a set of Christmas minis for the kids to do over the school break. The paint brushes were hollow, far from premium and they turned up bent and damaged. Those were refunded. The lamp turned up about a week after Christmas. Though it’s great, it doesn’t fit on any of our tables or work surfaces. The Christmas paintings never showed up and after a few emails I said not to bother with them as they’d arrive after Christmas. As for the custom painting (which I paid £50 for) well, that got here 7 weeks after I ordered - we were about 3 weeks into January. I was so upset my partner’s present didn’t show up on time. They realised around Christmas time that they never even dispatched the paintings and asked me if I still wanted them with a 10% discount on future shops, which is their standard offering anyway - they give everyone 10% off when they have made an order! I asked for more, I didn’t get it. I wouldn’t mind, but I had to explain myself almost every time I followed up on it. It took about 15 emails. The customer service team seem really lovely, but my goodness it was a lot. I ordered 4 things, they turned up in 3 deliveries over 7 weeks and the main present I wanted was the latest. That painting was the only reason I ordered the other stuff, it’s actually almost funny now. What a mess. DIY ARTCLUB have lovely lovely paintings and paints. I do like their main product. But their accessories are not great and they are super disorganised on the delivery front. If they don’t get it together they will not survive as a business. I was a fan, but now I’m not. Order at your peril.
