BE VERY aware that they take your money but take no responsibility. YOUR CONTRACT IS NOT WITH THEM. So no comeback,
Booked P&O cruise over Xmas 2024. P&O issued rear cabin on Britannia E740 on Deck 10. Paid £700 each for a balcony instead of Inside cabin and the one we were given couldn't be used because of SOOT falling on the balcony every day, even when at sea. Tried to claim a refund for the £1400 from Cruise1st and was told that it is nothing to do with them as I did not have a contract with them. They said that my contract is with P&O. P&O say that my contract is with Cruise1st. Visa said that my contract is with Cruise1st but Visa couldn't get involved because my payment went directly to P&O even though it was Cruise1st that I booked everything with and it was them that took my card payment details. Cruise1st don't want to take any responsibility and they also fail to tell you that you do not have a contract with them. ABTA are a waste of time. All Bark and no bite.
All in all this was the second cruise that we have booked with Cruise1st and P&O. It will also be the last. Promise to call you back but never have the balls to do so. They send email instead.
I had the misfortune of booking with this company and received the poorest service I have ever experienced. Cruise itinerary changed multiple times, flights changed due to a cyclone that didn’t even hit our destination - spoke with other guests who were heavily compensated and we were not, apparently because we did not complain loudly enough or in a timely enough manner. Conducting ourselves in a respectful manner with this company had the opposite effect and we were dismissed at every turn. We tried to gain help from them prior to flying home and again were dismissed. Once home, they were even more dismissive and rude because as far as they were concerned, we were no longer their problem. Would score them zero if there was an option to and will NEVER use their services again. We paid in the region of £15 k for a cruise for 4 adults and did not get the cruise that we agreed to. Not even close. This was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime before one of our group started aggressive cancer treatment on their return, however, even trying to explain this to the staff fell on deaf ears. It has taken me a while to write this as I still struggle to comprehend how poorly we were treated.
