Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.
Me and my partner have had a very good time with this company our solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts has been such a star always available when we have questions and was always quick at completing everything we needed
I just want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for all the support and dedication you've shown me throughout this journey. I truly appreciate the time you've spent answering my calls and guiding me, no matter how many times I reached out. Your patience, professionalism, and steadfast commitment have made a significant impact, and I’m genuinely grateful for everything you've done. Thanks again for everything! This review goes out for Tom Mclaren-Roberts. From mr and mrs Momoh

The communication from this company was terrible throughout, we started the process in November, and due to their lack of productivity and communication, we missed the March deadline, which meant we ended up going on a variable rate. This was very disappointing, as we had given them plenty of time to get the work done. Poor service throughout, would not recommend.

We are unfortunately using this company and it has truly been shambolic. We have absolutely no idea what is happening and not through a lack of trying to contact our conveyancer. The basics of the process have at no point been outlined to us, emails go unanswered. Documents go weeks without being amended despite the conveyancer saying it will happen "that day". The legal work may be fine but the customer service and attention to detail is abysmal.

I dealt with Sarah Evans for my conveyancing when purchasing a property. She was always responsive and reactive responding to all my concerns expeditiously and efficiently. She was prepared to respond out of hours in email and on the phone and made the process less stressful.

Very poor service. The case was assigned to a Ms Fuge whose initial comms were awful. It took 5 months to complete a no chain buy with the completion date moved at the last minute with mistakes at every step. she did not know her brief and despite asking for the file to be transferred to someone more competent this did not happen. The eventual bill was more than estimated at over 2k for 65K purchase. beware

First time purchasing a propery and Latham Gadd dealt with the purchase. No complaints at all. Latham made sure not to miss anything and was constantly on the case. We could easily get hold of Latham via email and call or a colleague if Latham was on leave. Satisfied with the service provided by Latham Gadd and Conveyancing Direct.

Absolutely appalled. Solicitors leaving half way through their caseload with no update and contact with the customer (Buyer). Caseload assigned to Gemma - worse ever. She is unreliable, full of attitude, and thinks she is right lastly she shows no concern for the very people paying her wage. This is something that they forget. The company is both unresponsive and uncaring. 5 months upto now trying to sign off on transfer of deposit. Our mortgage expires soon and still nowhere near getting the keys. They should be ashamed of themselves. I am now writing to their head office and trading standards. I suggest you all do this becuase they will keep doing this crap until someone pulls them up on it. Keep and log all evidence of incompetency like I have. Send it to independent standards agency. This company has no respect, or professionalism. I am also looking into my rights to refuse paying them. At the end of the day it's a transaction between customer and solicitor. Gemma and the company she represents has failed on this transaction.
