Our experience with Conveyancing Direct was a total letdown. It felt like we were completely in the dark, especially as first-time buyers, thanks to their lousy communication. Going through the complaints process, we were constantly brushed off, pretty much putting all of the blame on us for not magically understanding a process we hired them to guide us through. One of the most frustrating things was receving all of the crucial documents we needed, including the fixture and fittings form, DAYS before exchanging. Most of these documents were dated four months prior to this but apparently that's completely normal to be unaware of the details of the house you are buying until it's too late? I know solicitors are typically slow and require you to chase a lot, but when the company are failing to reply to complaints within their own 'prescribed time frame', you know something is wrong. And when they eventually did, they managed to send it to the wrong email addresses entirely - superb attention to detail. If you are purchasing through Connells and have been connected to this company, don't do it. Just Google a well-reviewed local solicitors and use them. Our sellers were also using Conveyancing Direct and we thought it would make the whole process smoother, but I don't think they were handled by the same office, let alone the same team/person. And if they were, I have absolutely no idea how they can manage it so poorly as the reason we were forced to exchange so quickly at the end of the process was due to how frustrated the seller was with them too. There's plenty more we could mention, but in short: avoid them at all costs. The endless bad reviews speak for themselves.
Me and my partner have had a very good time with this company our solicitor Tom Mclaren-Roberts has been such a star always available when we have questions and was always quick at completing everything we needed
I just want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for all the support and dedication you've shown me throughout this journey. I truly appreciate the time you've spent answering my calls and guiding me, no matter how many times I reached out. Your patience, professionalism, and steadfast commitment have made a significant impact, and I’m genuinely grateful for everything you've done. Thanks again for everything! This review goes out for Tom Mclaren-Roberts. From mr and mrs Momoh

I'd give zero if I could. This company are by far the worst I have ever dealt with! They lie constantly and delay at every opportunity, regularly claiming things have been done only for us to find out weeks down the line that they were lying. Morgan Gibson is so poor, borderline incompetent, and is possibly the most frustrating person to deal with. Anyone considering using this company should run away as fast as humanly possible. It's taken 9 months for a first time buyer and still no closer to completing. Utter drivel with failings at every corner. You'd be better off chucking your money down the toilet! How these people operate is beyond me, their sheer incompetence is unfathomable! AVOID!!!

I had a positive experience with Conveyancing Direct. Reece was quick to respond to messages and to push my remortgage through quickly after Land Registry delayed the process. I would recommend. Responsive, professional and always responded within 24hours.

I would strongly advise anyone who is looking for a solicitor to not deal with this company, especially Kiran Attwal, he delayed the sale to our house as much as he can and he seem to be enjoying doing so. We had no chain and it has taken 6 months for him to complete the sale! We was advised the sale would be easy and would take no longer than 3 months to complete but unfortunately, he delayed the sale. He lacks any kind of communication skills and has a really bad attitude. If you want a quick easy sale, I would advise finding another solicitor. We was recommended this solicitor by a mortgage advisor and really wish we had read the reviews before starting the process of buying a house. They charge around 2600 to buy a house, expensive solicitors for how slow they are. There fees will tell you around 1500 to 2000 to complete property sale with no chain, When you start the process and will end up higher than what you expect.

Avoid at all costs. This was a totally incompetent company, it has taken over 7 months so far and we still feel we are no where near exchange as there are still conveyance queries to be answered. Alex Giles was in charge, and he just wouldn't communicate with anyone as to what the hold up was/is. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

I can only say thank you to Conveyancing Direct and in particular Emily Briers, who made a complicated sale easier to manage. This sales was made complicated by addition land registry issues, however thanks to persistence and support we managed to complete the sale. Thanks again to Emily, without your help I am not sure how we would have managed.

I was about to lose my property because of this firm. They are not only useless, but they are also unprofessional, unhelpful and if you pay attention at how they work you will feel they work Against you not For you: 1. If the estate agent recommends this firm avoid it! They are not doing it for your benefit but for their commission! 2. Jo Holt was my assigned solicitor and she was quite useless to be fair : she used to ask me the SAME QUESTIONS every single month! She would send me an email , then she would disappear for 2-3 weeks then she would come back only to ask the same questions I have answered before. I got to a point where I thought they are investigating me not representing me! I also got the horrific “this document or this process is now with a SENIOR “! 3. They dragged the process from January 2024 to May 2024 and just right before the end of the purchase I sensed they were not going to help me get that house so I CHANGED them for a better, faster and professional conveyancing firm. That new firm took everything from square 1 and manage to finish and complete the purchase by the end of June so in only 1 month or so! This firm was useless to me, UNPROFESSIONAL and I never felt they represented my interests. Quite robotic and standards answers they gave I must add!

I’m a first time buyer and my solicitor (Vanessa Evans) was very patient with me and talked me through the property-buying process. She was very involved with my ordeal in securing the property. She consistently updated me with the progress even if there were hurdles encountered before completion. She’s very helpful and patient in answering my questions no matter how silly it may seem. She’s very organised and put my mind at ease during the stressful times. I would recommend conveyancing direct especially Vanessa. Also, the home conveyancing website where I could see the progress of my home-buying process was very handy. It was a good tool to personally track the progress. It was a very good experience for me. In the future, I would definitely use their service again. I’m so lucky my case was assigned to her because initially I was assigned to someone else who’s apparently on a holiday when I phoned them to pay for the initial payment. The named solicitor in the website was changed twice so I was a bit lost at first but it ended well.
