AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS! Take into consideration all negative reviews and don’t overlook it like I did!!! Before purchasing I called them to double check everything and was mislead over the phone, which made me go for the worse option. I misunderstood the fine prints because they were not clearly written, and are also misleading. Not to mention the spelling mistakes over the emails exchanged. I purchased learner insurance for a set amount of months, passed my driving test before the policy ended and they are refusing to refund the money for the months I will not use the learner insurance (which I have no option but to cancel). I’ve lost Β£160. They are claiming I never spoke to one of their agents which is a lie. Why would I have bought a policy over others without having spoken to anyone? Do not recommend them in the slightest! Go for reputable insurance companies instead, cheap becomes costly and it’s not worth it! Regardless of policy you go for its clear that you will be at loss!

Take care before insuring, will try take your money and reason it based on their policy

Cancelled my insurance and didn’t provide the money back, suggest you find a better and honest company that will try and scam you and will find ways to cut your money

READ THE SMALLPRINT!!! massive cancellation fees

please please be careful when taking out this policy which at first, seems good value for your kids first car insurance policy. HOWEVER, what is not made clear (only in the smallest of smallprint) and after purchase has been made. Is that as soon as your child passes their test, the policy is cancelled and you have to pay a steep cancellation charge, PLUS cancellation charge of at least Β£40. Charges for cancellation also include card administration fees, arrangement fees by a broker and then the percentage of premium calculated on whichever month you cancel in. I foolishly took this policy out when my daughter had been driving almost a year, was ready to take her test and I had purchased her a little car, she passed within 8 weeks, and I presumed I could ring the company and pay an additional fee now she had passed to keep the policy. this is not the case. They do not offer you this option at all. The ONLY option is to cancel and pay more money (on top of the money you have already paid for the actual policy). I have complained to the company, an the broker and have been told that I was directed to the policy wording after purchase, and this clearly stated the fee structure upon cancellation. Bit late for me now!! PLEASE BE WARY!!!

Caution - be sure to read the small print

Be sure to read the small print when dealing with this company. When you insure a learner driver, who then pass (say for example within 6 months) - they charge an additional Β£40 "cancellation fee" to the policy. This is never made clear at the start of the term, similarly, even though I suspect they knew 6 months in, they only contact you in the last month. This meant you cannot claim a credit back for the 6 months when the insurance was not needed but you have no option other than to pay the fine or be threatened with their Bailiffs. Very underhand tactics.
