AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS! Take into consideration all negative reviews and don’t overlook it like I did!!! Before purchasing I called them to double check everything and was mislead over the phone, which made me go for the worse option. I misunderstood the fine prints because they were not clearly written, and are also misleading. Not to mention the spelling mistakes over the emails exchanged. I purchased learner insurance for a set amount of months, passed my driving test before the policy ended and they are refusing to refund the money for the months I will not use the learner insurance (which I have no option but to cancel). I’ve lost Β£160. They are claiming I never spoke to one of their agents which is a lie. Why would I have bought a policy over others without having spoken to anyone? Do not recommend them in the slightest! Go for reputable insurance companies instead, cheap becomes costly and it’s not worth it! Regardless of policy you go for its clear that you will be at loss!

Beware the scams...

Can't help feeling they are a bit of a scam. If you take out a learner driver policy for 12 months and your little cherub passes within that period they charge you a cancellation fee! It's hidden in their t s and c s. Really underhand and devious. But that's the insurance industry for you.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. After paying the full year's insurance in 9 months they refund nothing for the unused months but instead charge an additional Β£40 to cancel. This is only avoided if the learner takes the full year to pass their test. Absolute scam. I see Collingwood has responded to my review. They know that Trustpilot is not the place for me to be disclosing personal detailed information. They also know that there is a formal complaints procedure (which is incidentally ongoing in my case) and this is what they should be signposting dissatisfied clients to rather than asking for further details on Trustpilot.

I am extremely disappointed with…

I am extremely disappointed with Collingwood Insurance due to their unfair and unethical charging practices. My son had insurance with them while on a provisional license. Just four days into the new monthly cycle, they deducted the premium payment. Soon after, he passed his test on the first attempt and no longer needed provisional insurance. However, within just a week, they deducted an additional Β£124 from our account. To make matters worse, we were on holiday and unable to respond immediately, but without any proper notice or email follow-up, they not only deducted the full monthly premium but also charged an additional Β£150 for cancellation fees just three days later! This is completely unacceptable. A responsible insurance provider should at least notify customers and allow a reasonable response time before deducting such hefty amounts. Instead, Collingwood Insurance appears to take advantage of customers, charging excessive fees without proper communication. I demand a full refund of the unjustified charges. It is outrageous to make nearly Β£200 in just one day from a single client without considering their circumstances. This kind of customer treatment is unethical and exploitative. I strongly urge others to think twice before choosing Collingwood

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague! Wish I’d have read these myself before buying for my daughter. Cancel policy and lose account within 24 hours before you have had chance to save anything. Dont bother asking me for an update on this review either Collingwood because you wont be getting one! Charging over Β£90 for a cancellation fee, Β£36 for a change fee, not even as an adult with my own insurance company have to pay that sort of charge. If you want to give your child a good start. Get their insurance with someone who isnt likely to rip them them off before they even get behind your wheel when circumstances change and you have no choice but to cancel. Avoid !!

Avoid !! This company charges a Β£40 fee at the end of the policy. It also cancels your account so you cannot access your information and are not helpful at all. You have to call them to pay them !! I wish I would have read the bad reviews before buying this policy, they all say the same thing !! Please do not choose to go with Collingwood, there are plenty of others around cheaper and more helpful.
