AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS!

AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS! Take into consideration all negative reviews and don’t overlook it like I did!!! Before purchasing I called them to double check everything and was mislead over the phone, which made me go for the worse option. I misunderstood the fine prints because they were not clearly written, and are also misleading. Not to mention the spelling mistakes over the emails exchanged. I purchased learner insurance for a set amount of months, passed my driving test before the policy ended and they are refusing to refund the money for the months I will not use the learner insurance (which I have no option but to cancel). I’ve lost £160. They are claiming I never spoke to one of their agents which is a lie. Why would I have bought a policy over others without having spoken to anyone? Do not recommend them in the slightest! Go for reputable insurance companies instead, cheap becomes costly and it’s not worth it! Regardless of policy you go for its clear that you will be at loss!

Highly Disappointed

Highly Disappointed – Unreasonable Fees and Poor Customer Ethics I strongly advise others to think twice before using this company. After passing my driving test, I was shocked to be charged a £75 cancellation fee, a £40 admin fee, and told I’d only receive 50% of my premium back. This felt like a deliberate tactic to take advantage of new drivers. What should’ve been a moment to celebrate quickly turned into a frustrating and costly experience. The lack of transparency and fairness is unacceptable. Not recommended.

I had a phone conversation with Sarah…

I had a phone conversation with Sarah Henderson from your team at Collingwood Insurance Company Limited. She was very kind and helpful. Although I don’t speak English very well, she patiently guided me and explained everything I didn’t understand. It was a real pleasure to speak with such a warm and professional person. Thank you very much for the excellent service you provide and for having such wonderful people like Sarah on your team!

Excellent customer experience

I spoke to Sarah to arrange Taxi insurance for the first time. She was extremely friendly and helpful. She explained everything clearly and answered all my questions, nothing was a bother. She made the process quick and easy to sort.

Extremely Delayed Claims Process – Unacceptable Service

I reported my accident (which was not my fault) on Thursday afternoon, and while I understand the bank holiday weekend from 18th to 22nd April may have caused some delay, it has now been 24 days with no progress on my claim. Initially, I was told Collinwood was waiting for the other party to contact them. After that, I was informed that a garage would reach out to arrange the repair, but I have still not heard from them. The lack of communication and action is incredibly frustrating, especially with no clear update on when the repair will take place. What makes this even more concerning is that my MOT is running out, and I need the repair completed before then. The delay is unacceptable, and I expect better service. If the repair isn't completed soon, I will need a courtesy car to avoid being left without transport. I’m very dissatisfied with how my claim is being handled

Lisa Thompson is amazing !

Lisa Thompson spoke with me today on renewing my taxi insurance with Collingwood Taxis and she was nothing short of amazing! She was extremely professional whilst upholding friendly and warm mannerism throughout the call. I expect her knowledge and experience in the industry is very valuable to Collingwood considering how she handled to renewal of my policy. I actually spoke to her this time last year on starting my private hire insurance and she remembered me, which shows how she also cares about her clients as well! ( Not many people do nowadays ! ) Today has showed how consistent and effective she is at her profession! Collingwood are lucky to have such an incredible person!

Extortionate cancellation fees. We feel ripped off!

Seems a good price when taking out the policy, but BEWARE! Took out learner insurance for my daughter, and she passed after 4 weeks of taking out the policy. I had seen about a £40 cancellation fee when the policy is cancelled, and also seen that the policy MUST be cancelled, once the driving test had been passed. We did this, and was then hit with fees, totaling the best part of £110! We rang Collingwood to express concerns at this extortionate fee, and was basically told it is all in the small print. However, this information is not made obvious. Collingwood explained if we don't pay, we may face legal action. We feel we have been ripped off, and absolutely disgusted companies like this can get away with it. Ended up paying almost a full years insurance quote for what was only 4 weeks cover. LOOK ELSEWHERE. Edit; Standard reply from Collingwood below, you reply much the same to every poor review. We had already contacted you before writing this review, and basically your response was, tough luck! It's in the small print on the pages of T&C's, so we have to pay up or face legal action. Very helpful.
