AVOID COLLINGWOOD AT ALL COSTS! Take into consideration all negative reviews and don’t overlook it like I did!!! Before purchasing I called them to double check everything and was mislead over the phone, which made me go for the worse option. I misunderstood the fine prints because they were not clearly written, and are also misleading. Not to mention the spelling mistakes over the emails exchanged. I purchased learner insurance for a set amount of months, passed my driving test before the policy ended and they are refusing to refund the money for the months I will not use the learner insurance (which I have no option but to cancel). I’ve lost £160. They are claiming I never spoke to one of their agents which is a lie. Why would I have bought a policy over others without having spoken to anyone? Do not recommend them in the slightest! Go for reputable insurance companies instead, cheap becomes costly and it’s not worth it! Regardless of policy you go for its clear that you will be at loss!

Watch out for the fine print costs! We used Collingwood for learner insurance for less than a month. After passing his test, they wouldn’t continue to insure his car and when cancelling the policy they charged us more than 3 months in fees! Nearly £200!!!

Great website but customer service is shocking and definitely needs attention. My sons annual premium was paid in full and when I raised that they had recorded the VRN incorrectly I was treated as if it was my fault, there was zero empathetic customer service and I was rudely told it was my fault and I had to pay £25 admin charge. I was also given a telling off by a youth saying that an incorrect vehicle was insured. I will be going elsewhere when the year is up…. It’s not good to pay cheap as it seems this is the behaviour the customer has to put up with. Have had a response and all I can say is what a shame Collingwood portrayed themselves as not rude, they certainly were. Stay clear is my advice and go with a reputable company.
Terrible company, you can play for a policy 100 percent , receive an email saying you have made all payments , only to get admin fee when you cancel ,, even though you have paid in full !
