One to avoid as mis sold

I stayed in the Clayton in cardiff with my wife and son and booked 2 executive rooms. I was given rooms 922 and 925 not executive rooms as these were on the 10th floor. So conned. The corridor had a horrible smell the rooms were dirty and dark the bed very small more like a large single and the bed and chairs very worn One room looked at a wall the other had a small window in the corner. The bathroom was clean but in need of replacement very tatty. The bar and restaurant were much better but expensive I booked a drinks package but was told in company this could not be the case as it was only for special occasions quite embarrassing the reception apologised and told me this was wrong and refunded me for it. I am left feeling disappointed and conned. My recommendation is stay somewhere else.

Friendly staff

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable Stay in a Great Location Stayed at Clayton Hotel recently my room was clean, and the bed was ok . Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location near the city centre. Only downside was a bit of a wait at check-in and breakfast.

Rooms very dated

Rooms very dated. Television didn’t work 3 x attempts by staff to get it working. Offered a change of room at 11:45pm πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ can’t remember when I stayed in a hotel with a shower over the bath and a shower curtain πŸ˜‚ but staff very friendly and professional. Restaurant staff lovely no complaints. Hotel needs a refurb. But very clean so cleaning staff doing a good job. No complaints with staff but defo needs to be upgraded better hotels in the area. delta, tribe x

Daylight robbery

I booked a room with Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane, and they cancelled it almost immediately after I paid. I never received a refund, despite emailing them for weeks with no response. Eventually, I had to dispute the charge through Revolut and got my money back β€” only for Clayton Hotels to dispute the refund and take the money back again, even though I never stayed there and they provided no service whatsoever. This is completely unacceptable and feels like theft, plain and simple. Avoid this hotel group at all costs β€” unresponsive, unprofessional, and clearly have no issue keeping your money without delivering anything in return.

Manchester Airport Clayton-Fantastic customer service

We stay at the Clayton the night before we fly every year,it takes the stress away and the holiday begins a day earlier. We were due to fly to Orlando in 3 weeks time and had booked our room back in March. We had to move our holiday to next year due to Covid19. I contacted the hotel to ask if we could change our dates and we were replied to by Ellie. She assured us it wasn't an issue and just to re-book when we had our new holiday dates. We had the new dates for the holiday confirmed this afternoon for June next year and I emailed Ellie to re-book. Within 10 minutes, she had replied to my email to confirm the booking and emailed our booking confirmation to us. The customer service has been fantastic and Ellie has been so efficient, helpful and friendly.I know why we stay at the Clayton every year-fantastic staff, great hotel, free transport to the terminal 24/7, fantastic location and customer service second to none. Thanks Ellie, you've been fantastic. Dave and Wendy.

Birmingham Clayton Hotel

Clayton Birmingham has such amazing people working there. I rang inquiring about some facilities in their suites and the kind gentleman said they will call me back with more information. To be honest, I didn’t expect that they would actually call me back but not long after an amazing sweet lady named Charlotte called me and was so helpful. She went out of her way to the top floor to send me pictures of the suite (via email) because I couldn’t visit the hotel to see the room for myself. I really appreciated that so much And booked the nice suite straight away

First class customer care!

I had non refundable reservation due on 29th June with a one night stay over and parking prior to flying to Skiathos. I cancelled the holiday early in March due to the current circumstances and completely forgot all about the booking. I have just received an email from the hotel at Manchester Airport to remind me about the reservation and offer me alternatives. They could have said nothing and kept my money! So when we go to Skiathos in 2021 we can stay at the Clayton Hotel Manchester Airport overnight in a lovely deluxe room with parking included. A massive thank you at this difficult time.

Stayed for 2x nights at clayton in…

Stayed for 2x nights at clayton in Belfast. This is my first ever stay at Clayton as I have a membership with others. The reason I stayed here: location, facilities (swimming pool is a must for me) and price. Pros: really good location, swimming pool, sauna and steam and gym were nice but the swimming pool area (mainly showers room) was really dirty and outdated. Also the water was very chlorinated, more than usual because after finishing swimming my eyes were hurting and itchy and you could smell it as well. Bed was comfy and the room was nice and quiet. The most important was really the staffs that I found really nice and friendly and listen to any concern and will help to resolve any issue WiFi was fast. Cons: a bit outdated. Cleaning the room was not good enough although I stayed for 2x nights. It did not bother me much but just for comparison with others. Breakfast: average but delicious. I missed some of breakfast elements but not big deal as there was really enough stuff to choose from. Food at resturant I found more expensive than usual with limited choices. So I ate outside. I really enjoyed my stay here and will consider coming back next time and would recommend

Not happy.

Hi, I stay at the clayton when visiting my daughter all the time nearly every month. I stayed in room 131 double room ? No bedside tables or lamps no plug sockets. Lighting was shocking. Mildew in wet room, hand soap didn't. Found a dirty glass underneath bed so the domestic didn't look there. Staff are approachable however still waiting for my receipt via email. I have booked for the end of the month too with my work colleges ?

Clayton hotel belfast

When we got to the hotel the receptionist was acting weird. She said our 1 night stay was Β£128 when I got the deal on booking.com for Β£108 with breakfast included. So I don't know were she was getting the extra money from and when I said to her about it she was smiling creepy and saying to come back to her? We never did, she was creepy. The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. They also completed my special request for a surprise balloon of the gender of our baby to see as he didn't know what gender the baby was until valentines day. However the shower didn't work so I couldn't wash my hair. The pool was lovely and warm although the lockers are abit of a nuisance to use but the staff who worked at the pool area were very friendly and a great help. Me and my husband both had a peaceful sleep although my husband didn't think the bed was comfortable but I did. The black out curtains really helped me get to sleep and I couldn't hear much sound from the main road outside which was good. The breakfast in the morning was moderate and not nice to me but my husband liked it. Overall I don't think I would come back to stay here again as the receptionist tried to get more money out of us than what the stay was worth on booking.com and I had this pre booked for valentines day for us a month before the actual day. The place is too pricey for what it's worth to stay there. Β£5 just to deliver food to your room and the food on the menu was too pricey just for normal things like pizza or sandwiches, we just ended up ordering a take away to the reception. **update** Got a reply on here from the manager saying the balloon costed the extra money yet on booking.com i got a message saying i wont be charged for the balloon and that they will only welcome me back if i say sorry to their excellent staff service. Sorry but i wont be back to a place were the management lies and wants me to apologise to the receptionist who wanted to charge me extra money for nothing.
