One to avoid as mis sold

I stayed in the Clayton in cardiff with my wife and son and booked 2 executive rooms. I was given rooms 922 and 925 not executive rooms as these were on the 10th floor. So conned. The corridor had a horrible smell the rooms were dirty and dark the bed very small more like a large single and the bed and chairs very worn One room looked at a wall the other had a small window in the corner. The bathroom was clean but in need of replacement very tatty. The bar and restaurant were much better but expensive I booked a drinks package but was told in company this could not be the case as it was only for special occasions quite embarrassing the reception apologised and told me this was wrong and refunded me for it. I am left feeling disappointed and conned. My recommendation is stay somewhere else.

Friendly staff

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable Stay in a Great Location Stayed at Clayton Hotel recently my room was clean, and the bed was ok . Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location near the city centre. Only downside was a bit of a wait at check-in and breakfast.

Rooms very dated

Rooms very dated. Television didn’t work 3 x attempts by staff to get it working. Offered a change of room at 11:45pm 🤦‍♀️ can’t remember when I stayed in a hotel with a shower over the bath and a shower curtain 😂 but staff very friendly and professional. Restaurant staff lovely no complaints. Hotel needs a refurb. But very clean so cleaning staff doing a good job. No complaints with staff but defo needs to be upgraded better hotels in the area. delta, tribe x

Daylight robbery

I booked a room with Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane, and they cancelled it almost immediately after I paid. I never received a refund, despite emailing them for weeks with no response. Eventually, I had to dispute the charge through Revolut and got my money back — only for Clayton Hotels to dispute the refund and take the money back again, even though I never stayed there and they provided no service whatsoever. This is completely unacceptable and feels like theft, plain and simple. Avoid this hotel group at all costs — unresponsive, unprofessional, and clearly have no issue keeping your money without delivering anything in return.

Impressive until you walk in !!

The Clayton hotel in Sligo was impressive to look at from the outside, but things changed once you go in. Small but neat reception areas, 2 tiny restaurants, very average food, but the worst was yet to come. Old dated bedrooms, with deteriorating , scratched up furniture from the 70`s. Bath panel rotting and splitting, not sure how they are rated as 4 star, 2 star at best. Stayed there end of November for 2 nights as an anniversary treat for my wife, but very disappointed.

Clayton Manchester Airport Hotel

We stayed over at the Clayton Manchester in September, which (whilst very busy as travel had only recently been allowed again) was perfectly acceptable. However, on our return, we found that our vehicle which had been left in off-site secure parking over the week we were away had been returned to the car park with a flat tyre. Whilst this took time to remedy, as a quick fix, we were still able to return home with the promise of an investigation and further contact from the hotel and parking management. On attempting to get the tyre fixed, it became obvious that it had been driven whilst flat under the care of the hotel and would require replacing, which we did at our own cost. Since that date we have not heard from the hotel or parking management with any explanation or results of their investigation, this was over three months ago. As customer service goes, we think this is exceptionally poor.

Afternoon Tea at The Clkayton Hotel E1 7AT

Had afternoon tea yesterday at Clayton Hotel London E1 7AT. Food was awful dry scones, sandwichs made with the cheapest bread and filling. All cakes were choclate (we are not lovers of chocolate) asked if we could have some plainer cakes, given 2 very dry victoia sandwichs, these were uneatable. a very very dissapointing afternoon. It was a teat for my birthday.!!

Second stay this year at the Clayton in…

Second stay this year at the Clayton in Ballsbridge. Dublin. Beautiful hotel, the staff are fantastic, friendly & so pleasant. So busy the night we stayed but food service was fast & delicious. A special word of thanks to Simon Anglin, whose Customer service is second to none. Will definitely be back.

We came here on a groupon offer for a…

We came here on a groupon offer for a girly one night break and we could not believe our luck tbh. 3 minute walk from the railway station , beautifully renovated, such friendly staff and the offer not only was fabulous value for money , free drink on arrival , early checking in , fabulous food and service and late check out made it perfect . I have absolutely nothing negative to say and we intend to return in August with some other girly friends as it was so perfect .

Duplicate Charges to my credit card

Stayed in ballsbridge and quiried there charging Told it was fine , four emails and a week later and I am still out of pocket to the tune of £390 same as the other person I have had to report it to the credit card company shocking service And the staff are very blasie about it do the same RDS show every year will be looking at alternative hotel next year

unauthorised credit card charges

We stayed at the Clayton Hotel Dublin Airport. Several days before our stay they charged over €100 to my credit card and then separately charged for the room on arrival. They refused to reply to emails and when contacted by the booking agent could not explain why they made the charge. I am still awaiting a refund and have had to involve the credit card company. I would never use another Clayton hotel. If it was a mistake they would simply have apologised and issued an immediate refund!

Did the park and fly deal at Clayton…

Did the park and fly deal at Clayton Dublin airport - nearly impossible to find a parking space. The attitude of bus driver on the return shuttle from the airport was astonishing - he took off on a half full bus leaving people standing another 30 minutes. Wouldn’t use this again - rooms are in very stuffy as well.

Had our wedding here on the 16/10/21…

Had our wedding here on the 16/10/21 and all I can say is everything about this hotel is 100%. Savannah the events manager goes above and beyond her job. Donna who sorted numerous things is also lovely. Then on the day we had Andy who ran our day, he is fantastic and couldn't do enough for us and made sure everything went smoothly. The bar man on the bar was also amazing so easy to talk to and put everyone at ease ( sorry didn't get his name). Lastly the food was incredible (credit to the chef) oh and the reception staff were lovely always smiling. Fantastic bedrooms and lovely breakfast the morning after. Sorry if I missed anyone thank you again x x
