The cabin was very lovely. Since there was only 2 of us, we just used the main floor. The kitchen had more then enough to cook meals even though we did not cook much. We LOVED the hot tub and used it each night! The front porch made for a relaxing afternoon and the peacefulness was the added touch. Highly recommend!

Not the Mountain Retreat We Hoped For - While Sky Laurel had some positives—clean accommodations and comfortable beds—the overall experience fell short of expectations. The kitchen was shockingly small, almost as if it was added as an afterthought. Opening the refrigerator door was a struggle, the oven looked straight out of the 1950s, and there was barely enough room for two people to stand without bumping elbows. A pervasive smell of mold lingered throughout the space, and although a dehumidifier was running when we arrived, it wasn’t enough to cut through the damp atmosphere. We requested a second dehumidifier on day two of our four-night stay, and reached out to the rental company twice more to ask that one be left on the porch—but unfortunately, it was provided 12 hours before we were to check out. Sky Laurel had some redeeming features, but sadly, it didn’t live up to the charm we were hoping for during our time in Blowing Rock.

Communication was very clear from the beginning. The photos and description of the cabin were accurate and the host was very proactive and responsive during the reservation and check in/check out process. The cabin was beautiful, modern and comfortable, ideally located for easy access to conveniences, adventures and yet very private. Everything was super-clean. Hwy 105 is just across the wide Wautauga river, but passing vehicles were mostly screened from view by foliage and the rushing water covered most of the traffic sounds, especially at night. Access to the river for fishing was just outside the cabin. Because this is a rocky riverbed, you do need decent agility and balance if you're going to make your way out to the fishable spots. The screened porch is surrounded by rhododendron, mature trees and lots of birds. You feel a lot further away from civilization than you are.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at "It Was All a Dream" in Banner Elk, and it was truly a wonderful experience! This spacious home comfortably accommodated our large family, allowing everyone to have their own space. One of our favorite features was the swings underneath the deck, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings. The variety of games and puzzles provided kept us entertained during our downtime. The organization and cleanliness of the house were impressive, making us feel right at home. The proximity to a lovely creek added a serene touch to our stay, and we appreciated the convenience of walking to the park and other nearby amenities in Eagles Nest. The easy access to the beach mountain gate was an added bonus, offering even more opportunities for exploration. Lastly, the well-stocked living room, complete with a fantastic TV, made our evenings together even more enjoyable. Overall, our time at "It Was All a Dream" was incredible, and we highly recommend it for anyone seeking a memorable family getaway in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina!

Exceptional customer service and the properties are always clean. We have rented from a lot of different companies around the NC mountains but this is by far the best!

Cozy, Comfortable, Great for a Family, Near to downtown amenities

BRMR is the best rental company in the area. Their people are great, always trying to please. The only reason I can't give a 5 star is because I've made basic suggestions over the past few years that don't get implemented. Every rental home I've ever owned had specific instructions for renters on AC, Heat, Internet, and TV.....at the very minimum. I've rented homes from BRMR for several years now, and they don't see this as important. This isn't an employee problem (they are great and always want to help); it's a management problem that fails to recognize how this one small change could greatly increase renter satisfaction. This last home I rented was a disaster for 2 days until we figured out what could have easily been known with simple operational instructions about the home's basics. But again, BRMR is the best in the area and I'll continue to use them despite the easily avoidable problems I encounter each time I rent.

We have used BRMR on numeous occasions. Each time they have gone above and beyond, to ensure our rental experience was top notch. On the rare occasion they was an additional request, they were prompt to respond, and always to our.complete satisfaction.
