Our weekend stay was perfect. The cabin was clean and as expected based on the pictures on the site. Plenty of room and the kitchen was well stocked. The location was only a few mins from downtown Boone.

As soon as we walked in the door at Sunset Ridge, there was a wow factor that instantly brought us a sense of calm and peace. We certainly enjoyed the amenities at Eagles Nest, especially Epic Chophouse, but the most special times were simply sitting on the deck enjoying the tranquil mountain view with friends. We are already making plans to come back here this fall to enjoy the amazing sunsets and beautiful foliage with our kids and grandkids. Apparently the house is for sale so I just hope the future owners don’t take it off the market. It’s truly a gem!
The view was absolutely amazing. There were 4 issues that occurred once we arrived. First, the microwave did not work, so we had to go our whole stay without a microwave. Second, the firepit didn't have any gas in it. They did come out and replace the tank. Third, the hot tub said that the water hadn't been changed in 509 days (wow). They did test the water and said that it was okay to use. Lastly, the shower on the top level is super small and no lighting. Was a little disappointed because of the amount of money that was paid to rent this home.
A beautiful place to enjoy nature. Loved the furniture and decor. Kitchen is well equipped. The river is quite deep in this particular section - so it’s great for swimming. Perhaps not the best if you have little ones or if you wanted to put a chair in the river and let your dogs run. It’s more of a deep water swim area. We enjoyed using the kayaks driving them to the wagoner put-in and ending our trip at the house (about a 2 hr trip) so fun! Don’t forget sunscreen or you’ll have burned legs. Jefferson is a quick 20 min drive for great food and Ashe county cheese, ice cream, and fudge. WiFi is great in the house but no cell service as soon as you step outside, so set your gps route for your outing before you go.

Great instructions for first time renters. Clean property. Good directions to the location and for check in/out. Well stocked with simple supplies, even a few spices for cooking. Property was well represented so we were able to pick exactly what we wanted and would definitely rent again.
