Great Staff
We response to messages and emails was lacking during our vacation. We had mold growing in our hot tub that was never fixed. We were unable to use the hot tub and were told to enjoy our vacation. I was disappointed to know that no one came out to clean it during our 6 night stay. I have called and reached out about this issue but am still waiting for answers and updates on the matter. We chose this rental home to use the hot tub and enjoy it. We closed it up and stopped using it due to the cleanliness of it. I would like to see something credited or fixed for the inconvenience.
The house was amazing and perfect for our family of 4. Cozy, clean with all amenities needed for a week stay. Would definitely stay again!

This was the worst rental experience I’ve ever had, and I feel compelled to share. The property was poorly maintained — the table tennis and accessories looked like something you’d find in a third-world country, completely subpar for the price we paid. To make matters worse, we spent our entire stay without running water. We had four kids in the family, making this situation incredibly stressful. Despite Angie from customer service being great and communicative, no one ever showed up to fix the water issue, even though we were promised it would be addressed. Adding to the disappointment, when we were leaving, I noticed a guestbook meant for kind notes from previous visitors. I wanted to check what others had written, only to find the page broken and replaced with a new one. You can check the note dated 1-1-25 to confirm this. I’ve been coming to the Carolinas for 10 years and have never experienced such poor maintenance. This was especially disheartening as I brought family visiting from Cuba — a country where water and electricity are scarce — to enjoy what I promised would be their greatest vacation. Instead, we felt deceived and let down. I have never left a bad review before, but this experience left us all deeply disappointed.
The entire rental experience was fantastic. The communications came in as scheduled. The payments were charged as scheduled, and the home was as advertised. This is a first class operation that I will use again and recommend to others.
Loved the vibe (style, decor, etc). Lots of cooking pots, pans, plates, utensils, etc. Lots of extra warm blankets (very important since we sometimes struggled with maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature. Owner responsive to requests, Very clean upon move-in. Kids loved the hot tub. TV's everywhere, but it would have been nice to have a larger one in living room so that we could all enjoy holiday shows together. Actually felt bigger than from photos on site. Plenty of room for the 10 of us and our small Chihuahua. Proximity to ski/snowsport areas was pretty good, local park with playground at bottom of hill was great for when younger kids were getting some cabin fever. Close to a large town (Boone) added to comfort for us big-city folks. Would recommend not running the dishwasher before going to bed since it was VERY loud.
They were helpful and took care of finding us another property after the hurricane and the original property was not available. Response time for questions and concerns was very quick.
Dragon Fly was an extremely dusty cabin. If you have any sort of allergies do not stay here. Also the management charged us $81.00 for a comforter they said we have damaged and we absolutely did not. I am sure this house had not been clean in months there were literally spider webs on every corner. We tried contacting them about the comforter which I am sure it was damaged prior to our visit or by the staples all over the skirt of the bed. We heard nothing back from them.
This is second time I used BRMR and they did a great job again. 5 star experience all the way. Thank you.
House location and setup is perfect! We had a family of 7 and dog. Great Amenities. Hot tub. Fire pit table.

Perfect mountain getaway We spent a long weekend before Christmas at Ambleside with our 3 young children and dog and it was the perfect getaway for us. Secluded but close enough to get to food, activities within 15-20 minutes. The hot tub was clean and lovely, the wood burning fireplaces were charming, the kitchen was well equipped, though there was not a lot of space to put groceries/snacks. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together and will be back!
This was the best Christmas!! Then cabin was so welcoming!! Cozy and felt like home! Beds and pillows were like a 5 star hotel! Hot tub was a big hit! And LOVED the fireplace was off the gas! I will say if you are going during storms MAKE SURE you have 4 wheel drive or snow chains.
