This was a Rhein en Flammen trip. We were last in line and the fireworks were at least 1/2 mile away. Would have seen more had we stayed docked in Rudesheim. Beds were very hard. The A-Rosa Brava furniture is looking pretty "tired". Drinks were watered down. Never heard "boo" from Captain--I suppose there was one.
The A-Rosa all inclusive is truly "All Inclusive." The staff was consistently friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared and in variety. The optional excursions were well organized and enjoyable and the free use of bicycles an unexpected perk.

We had a lovely summer vacation on the SENA. With our 2-year-old toddler, we were always busy, felt safe, and there was always something to do (whether it was a trip into town, a nap in the cabin, or splashing in the children's pool). Our friends, also with a toddler, were equally thrilled. The food and drinks were excellent. You can't expect a lot from the entertainment, but it was still quite enjoyable, and if you weren't in the mood for it, you could just retreat outside and enjoy the passing scenery. The crew on board was incredibly friendly and always knew beforehand what we wanted to drink. The SENA is a beautiful, modern ship, and it feels like a luxury vacation. Highly recommended!

We were booked in the A-Rosa Donna from 7/9 on the Danube. What a disaster! We left from Lindt as the boat was unable to pick us up from Engelhartszhell due to technical problems. We then sailed to Vienna where we were stranded due to technical problems. We were never kept informed and had to be on board at 14:00 as the boat was “sailing”. After 4 nights we sailed to Melkt where we had more problems. We never got to see Budapest and it was the supposed highlight of our trip! The hotel manager was useless and eventually some of the passengers were keeping the other passengers informed. The offshore manager was extremely rude and did some of the announcements in German to inform us that the English outing was now only in German. I requested Gluten Free meals as I suffer from Celiac’s. The chefs were not informed! I got so ill and am still suffering the after effects. Our bathroom tiles were cracked and the floors full of mold. When I spoke to the DJ to make a request he ignored me, said no and turned his back on me. I have never experienced such a level of utter incompetence in my life. On the last evening we had to pack and move to the sister ship Rosa Mia as the boat was unable to sail again. Most inconvenient.

Good value. Our cruise manager made sure to be inclusive of non-German-speaking guests.

We have just returned from a Danube cruise on the A Rosa Donna. What a farce! Only had 2 out of 4 scheduled stops, Bratislava and Budapest, supposedly due to high water. Should have picked the ship up in Passeau but the ship had been stuck in Vienna for 2 days when we arrived. No table service, buffet was crowded with long queues and poor food quality. Although the ship 'paused' to drop off passengers booked on a walking or cycling tour, we were not allowed off. Even when we docked again in Melk to pick those passengers up we were not allowed off. It was like being on a prison ship. Not enough information given out. PA system was rubbish, reception staff, except for 1, were grumpy. Some staff were OK but all appeared unhappy. Our cabin steward was very good and overall the ship was clean. My opinion is A Rosa dock in the cheapest areas and dock 2 abreast to save money. This expensive cruise was a real disappointment. 1 star is down to the cleanliness of the ship.

We booked this cruise after seeing it on instagram as a family friendly cruise. We really enjoyed our time, our 4yr old had a blast on the boat. I think the pool really helped. The ship is very nice and the staff was very friendly, even though I didn't speak German. Very relaxing and beautiful.

Let me start by saying we have cruised on a Viking river cruise last year and actually didn’t have a great experience due to river flooding but the food and entertainment on the first week was excellent, we and felt like we were on a coach tour at times but we feel we can compare and honestly review A Rosa Clea on the Mosel . As the only English speaking couple on board we were saved by kind friendly, excellent service staff willing to chat , each meal is in the dining room with unassigned seating buffet style with limited table service only for 2 courses at dinner time and I can honestly say that the food is very average at best ( I compare it to nursing home food but my husband thinks I’m been a bit harsh !) Strangely the cohort of all Germans onboard only a few ( 4 ) were willing to speak to us ! We weren’t sure if maybe they just didn’t speak English well ( we don’t speak German but have managed to have many delightful conversations with other Germans in our 6 weeks travel in Germany ) so each meal time we could see the dread on other diners faces as we entered the room hoping we wouldn’t sit next to them ! We actually would eat out if we happened to be in a port . Premium alcohol package isn’t top end , the white wine is like a house white and my husband couldn’t drink the red , but the beer and spirits are fine . The friendly cruise directors tried to offer English brochures for self guided walks in town which we really appreciated , finally the so called music director was a joke , he basically played a few Spotify covers at night by pressing play and played the Piano and guitar a couple of times ( poorly ) , he didn’t deserve to be paid in our opinion, we would never recommend A-Rosa river cruises to anyone .

We were on the A-Rosa Donna from Aug 18 - 25th. Looks like we dodged a bullet. The Cruise went very well until the 2nd to last day on the way to Engelshartzell. Around 11pm, an announcement was made that we were diverting to Linz due to a 'propulsion' problem. Next morning, no info available at all as the crew were waiting to hear from head office (in Europe, unlikely on a weekend). We were offered a free taxi ride to and from Linz for the day, which we took, only to find that the city closes at 1pm on a Saturday. That evening, the 'Hotel Manager' - Kevin, told us that there were people from the shipyard coming in and out all day trying to fix the problem. I was on the sun deck most of the afternoon, and no one came or went except fellow guests walking about. We were also told at the meeting that he was confident that the boat would resume sailing the next day. Incredible, on a Sunday, in Europe!!!. Didn't happen. My Mother in Law, who'd flown from NZ to have one last Europe trip and to celebrate her 80th on the cruise was left absolutely distraught, sobbing in her cabin, on her Birthday. Hard to watch, let alone accept. We were bussed to Vienna on the final day and that was it. Incredibly, a few days later, an email arrived asking us to fill in a satisfaction survey, which we haven't filled in. Now, of course, there'll be the generic 'really sorry we didn't meet your expectations' etc, but they have our money, what do they care. Ball is in your court A-Rosa, what are you going to do? Remember, this is a very well subscribed forum.
