Constant problems with no water can't replace the pipes but can pay their shareholders
Entering day 4 without mains water. No end in sight. Apparently they can’t find the cause of the supply failure.
Reported a domestic water leak almost 3 weeks ago. An initial visit confirmed it was the company's responsibility to repair but a follow up visit was needed. 3 weeks pass & the same technician turns up to take photos of the leak he saw 3 weeks before. In the interim no.proactive communication from the.companu. Promised callbacks never came. And.booked visits never happened. Awful! And I have no alternative provider.I can switch to. Simply.awful service

2 years and 5 months ago a notice was given to my neighbour about a leak, the neighbour failed to fix it within 30 days, ANGLIAN WATER HAS DONE NOTHING . they say if its not fixed within 30 days they can either fix it themselve and recoup the money back or fine you max £1000 under the water act of 1991 THEY DONE NEITHER. Worst company ever.
If I could rate a zero I would. Horrendous customer service. If you were able to switch water provider and they were subject to the competition other companies face, Anglian water would have gone out of business a long time ago. We had a water outage for over 24 hours on the hottest day of the year (back in July) and they are refusing to pay us and many of our neighbours the compensation they owe - compensation that is detailed in their own code of conduct.
Persuaded to have water meter fitted in March 2022. Told it would be fitted within three weeks. Eight months later, having heard nothing, I receive an email saying my new direct debit has been set up and a text asking me to review the recent work done at my house. I knew nothing about any of this. Phoned Anglian Water to be told that a meter had been fitted a few days earlier. I was not given any notice nor told it had been fitted. On phone for over an hour being passed to three different people who were not able to give me any explanation. Received call the next day but person had been given no information so I had to explain everything again for the fourth time. Received two calls three days later to be told by different people that I would receive a call by 23 November latest to discuss future payments etc but heard nothing from anyone. Sent email raising formal complaint - awaiting reply. Appalling service received from both metering and customer service departments.
One of the few large companies out there that has a real human answering the phone (without a 30 minute wait!) and actually gets stuff done efficiently. Brilliant service. It's not like you have a choice over your water supplier, but credit where it's due, Anglian are good.
Lately discovered Anglian has been making adverse reports on my credit profile because I have refused to use their metre and always negotiated instalment payment of their annual bills. I have not missed a single payment in at least 10 years. I have always agreed the monthly payment and frequently pay in excess of the agreed amount. However if your instalment payment is over 10 months, Anglian registers an adverse report on your credit profile, so beware. They offer you all kinds of schemes but covertly damage your credit profile. My husband died in Sept 2019 and I rang Anglian Water to ask if there could be a change in my billing since I was now living alone. Apparently the representative I spoke to, who arranged my current payment plan, documented that they advised that this payment plan could have an adverse effect on my credit profile. That was a blatant lie. All he did was change me from a 10months payment plan to 12months. I was in the process of arranging a remortgage of a property. Why will I stupidly agree to a scheme that will damage my credit status? I only last week learnt from another Anglian Water representative that this was why I incurred the advise credit report, not because I defaulted in my bill payments to them. Beware of accepting the carrots they dangle as payment schemes. They can hurt you badly. My mortgage application was turned down because of Anglian Water adverse credit report. Shame on them.
Had to call about a blocked drain. Phone system gave us options of using their website to avoid long queue but call answered in only a couple of minutes. Lovely lady logged it all, apologised but might be up to 24 hours before someone can come out due to the recent weather. Someone came out same day. Really nice man, sorted the issue in no time and seemed genuinely grateful for a cup of tea. Despite being about sewage, very pleasant experience and shows of Anglian Water and their staff very well.
I have had no drinkable water since last November. It is brown, tastes bitter, even when boiled. It turns sanitary ware brown and even leaves black deposits on clothes and washing machine. I am told they need to replace the 'main'. Yet the work has now been cancelled for the 3rd time leaving me to have to shower at another address. I was promised it would be done by Christmas now January. It is surely a basic human right in the UK in 2022 to have access to potable water. Utterly disgusting service.
I was recently contacted by the Anglian Water and informed that I had a large leak in my property. Worrying times for me and my two sons that also live in the property. However I was very impressed by the customer service and the expertise and the speed that the matter was dealt with. A gentleman came out to assess the leak which he quickly identified followed by feeding the information back to the company who dealt with the matter in timely manner. Leek was fixed in a matter of a week with workforce informing me of what they were doing every step of the way. One of my major concerns was damage to the drive...but I really didn't need to worry...every brick was carefully removed and put back in its original place with a careful consideration. As the progress was being made each day the area was left tidy and contained by a sturdy plastic barriers surrounding the work site with a date of completion clearly visible for everyone to see. I worried so much.... yet I felt so blessed by all amazing people who worked on the project. Thank you Anglian Water! Thank you so much guys for all your hard work! Job very well done!
Spoke to a chap named Cameron in the water leak department, picked up straight away and once seeing our issue booked me an engineer all within five minutes….Brilliant customer service 👍
