Check Not Received / Getting Run-Around

I received an email saying a check was issued more than a month ago and my claim was marked Closed - however, I have not received the check. I emailed Travel Guard twice but received no response. I called the listed phone number, sat on hold for a long time, gave my claims #, my travel dates, my first/last name multiple times - then was told the person who answered couldn't help cancel the check / send a new one. The claims adjuster will call back - maybe. This all feels like stalling.

Excellent service!!

I forgot to buy travel insurance from the cruise line when I booked my cruise so I went to this website and bought theirs. Well I ended up getting sick 2 days before the cruise and had to cancel. I filed a claim with them and within 10 days I had my reimbursement check. I will definitely use them again!

I wasn't able to use the same ticket to come back. It means that I buy a new ticket because your company cancelled my trip. I will not buy this kind of cheapest ticket

Travel Guard denial

We bought Travel Guard insurance for our trip to South Africa. Our luggage was delayed by 24 hours and that should be covered by the bought policy. Since we did not buy essentials (we arrived late with no stores nearby and had an early tour in am) they denied any compensation.

Slow and unhelpful

Trying to make a claim due to covid 19 cancellation. They have been slow to even respond to the claim. I bought trip insurance but they are now claiming that the accommodation does not form part of the trip. Which is obviously not true. Expedia sell this dodgy company's products which makes you wonder whose interests they have at heart.

Fraudulent Services

Fraudulent services. We had to cancel trip due to my loss of job; parochial schools closed by governor through school year = laid-off/zero income and annual contract end for me/job loss. AIG sold us policy which clearly states 100% coverage and refund if laid-off or loss of job; which is my case on both levels. Nowhere does their policy stipulate that this loss of job cannot come from anything related to COVID-19. After 2-1/2 months of silence from them or them giving me the run-around for more paperwork - which I provided everything I had, and more - they send me an Air Ticket Reimbursement Form - indicating the refund is on its way. Instead, more time passes and they pull a bait and switch and send me an email saying because my loss of income/job is COVID-19 related, I will not get money refunded for airline credits I HAD TO take per directive from THEIR customer service representative in order to even be able to file a claim. The email stated my case was immediately closed, with zero opportunity for me to even counter back or question. AIG made up facts and changed the narratie of their policy's clearly documented wording just because they don't want to pay out on a legitimate claim. I have contacted WI's Commisioner of Insurance's office to order paperwork to file a complaint against this horrendous company.

Opportunistic Svavengers

Travel Guard Policy Confirmation: 941874348 They claim wrongfully that the cancelation of scheduled trip was due to fear; therefore it is not their problem. We got into a lockdown and trips were cancelled to Italy. You owe me $145.84, and I demand my money back. It's been over two months

I had a trip to Africa which was my trip of a lifetime, that I planned for all year. Emirates Airline cancelled the flight without telling us why several weeks before the day we were set to go. It was right after Iraq was bombed and their was talk of Dubai also being in the cross hairs. We were totally unable to find another flight to Tanzania and had to cancel the trip. Travel Guard is refusing to give us our money because Emirates won't tell them or us why they cancelled! It doesn't matter why, the reality is we had absolutely no way to get there. I am about to contact an attorney. DO NOT USE THIS group that only takes your money and finds 100 excuses not to honor their commitment.

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. "Forseen" event is the language used to steal travelers money. When I planned a cruise/visit to Europe I foresaw a global pandemic. Travel guard is nothing more than a con/shell game. I will not waste money ever again on this type of insurance.

I had a trip schedule to leave for Montego Jamaica from 04/26/2020-05/03/2020. I purchased the insurance as a security IF anything goes array. Yet to say it did. My trip can cancelled a month before we were able to go. I contacted Travel Guard to file a claim, I'd received the agents name Michael Lund and I still have yet to speak, email, txt, bird call, dammit Morris code with him. They knew Bookit.com was a fraud company. I'm going to push this issue as far as I can. I saved up a year for this trip. Fraud as scammers Bookit.com and AIG Travel Guard are dicking me with no Vaseline!!!

Travel Guard should be ashamed and I am…

Travel Guard should be ashamed and I am guessing by the looks of other recent reviews they will not be able to save themselves after the dust settles. I will do everything I can to continue to inform everyone possible to never do business with them ever. This Pandemic is something none of us could have dreamed up and all plans are at a 100% halt, not to mention a life risk. I purchased 4 tickets to Italy for our first family vacation out of the country and WowFare is doing nothing but running me in circles and giving me zero options to help. I purchased travel insurance with Travel Guard and they are getting out if it as this qualifies as an "unforeseen" reason to not cover the loss, not to mention the multitude of other reasons they are squirming out of coverage. So WowFare and Travel Guard are jointly screwing over my family for a large amount of money. I tried to go directly to the airlines that are offering very reasonable accommodations for travel vouchers to be used for 24 months, but when you try it gets denied because it was booked through WowFare. Travel Guard needs to implement some special circumstance accommodations. I am astonished that Travel Guard is willing to cut their own throat at this time when they could strengthen their future instead. Would I take all this back if Travel Guard would step up? Yes, a hundred times over but so far it's the run-around and utter disappointment. COME ON TRAVEL GUARD - PULL YOUR HEADS OUT!

Disreputable company

Disreputable company. Refused to provide a credit after a cruise line cancelled a cruise. Didn't want my money back just a credit for a future trip but they don't seem to recognize the entire counrty is shut down. Not interested in helping out those in need. I can only surmise they'd push back if you ever had a legitimate claim as well. I'd advise looking elsewhere for travel insurance.

Heartless frauds

Due to Covid-19, my $12k trip to Bora Bora was cancelled by no fault of my own. Entire countries have borders closed and airlines cannot operate. I could not go on the trip even if I wanted to. Come to find out, Travelguard won’t cover your trip due to the virus unless you actually contract the virus. What a joke. They are taking advantage of a horrible situation and not adjusting to the unknown like each and every person in the world has to. DO NOT purchase a policy with them. You’re better off keeping that money because they will not help you.
