Unacceptable Billing Errors by Tomato Energy

I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Joined on 2nd December

Joined on 2nd December - house is working on electrcity changeover - for now! So I must be on Tomato Energy. Changed from Octopus which I was VERY happy with but the sales rep convinced me with the excellent rates. My only gripe currently is that customer support does not answer my emails. I have no web portal. Had no emails to setup my account. No idea how they are going to invoice me, when they will invoice me, if they are taking readings, if I have to submit readings. Can a rep check in with me and follow up. Could I just get cut off or will a red bill arrive through the post which at least gets the dialogue started. LOL Thank You Jurek *******Updating from 1 star to 4 star after receiving a phone call 2 hours after submitting this review. An incorrectly taken email address taken from me during call in December (a simple mistake) resulted in the lack of correspondence. Today's follow up from Millie, we modified email address and now I am seeing all the account setup docs. Moral of the story, perhaps drop a message on Trustpilot which they are carefully monitoring. They genuinelayy want to take the service support to a higher level. I'm changing from 1 star to 4 star. Thanks Millie

Straight to the point - quality

Usually I hate getting a cold call about anything - but Shay was different! He cut straight to the point knowing the factors that would make me listen! Tomato rates are great there’s no questions about it. As a solar panel user Shay knew to go straight to export rates! And when quizzed about the renewable nature of tomato’s power he was informed and honest - which was refreshing! The process was smooth and I got notification from my current supplier before the phone call has even finished! Great service, great prices! Why not switch….

Great supplier brilliant prices

The rates they charge are good when compared to rates in Europe A fixed nighttime discount A fixed mid day discount They were automated in taking me from my current supplier and did everything perfect without a hitch Customer service team followed up two weeks later to check I was happy Energy suppliers need this completion, I hope more people will support Tomato so that the industry wakes up and stops over charging

I think, yes think, I have joined Tomato. No confirmation

From my perspective their onboarding process does not work. I think yes think i have joined, paid some money into my account. but had no communication form them about the go live date. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.
