I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Great Customer service from Pargat who quickly and efficiently dealt with some late bills I'd just received. Also very pleased to see the data coming through on my usage and the benefits of being on the Tomato Tariff I've selected.
Very polite customer service, Pargat helped me through my problems and restored my confidence back in the company, with all the negstive news floating around at the moment. Hopefully they continue, because it's a fantastic tariff!
I have been with Tomato Energy for 8 months. The best electricity supplier I have had. Great rates, friendly staff proactively check in with me occasionally. Bills have always been on time and recent changes to the bill really helpful with graphs showing when I use power. The new app is really easy to use. Long may it last!
Tomato sound like a scam and it turns out they are. I joined in February for a cottage I am not yet living in, so only very sporadically use any power. I have submitted readings each month, showing how little energy I use, but instead of using these for billing, Tomato plucked an estimate out of the sky, 5 times higher than it should be, entered it in my list of readings (I was 300 miles away on the date they did this!) and despite my contacting them to request they pause the wildly overinflated direct debit, they took the money anyway. I spoke to various agents who all said "I'm so sorry, this shouldn't have happened" then made refund promises they didn't keep. In the end I had to contact my bank to recoup the money. Still no corrected bill, and now I am getting emails claiming they know nothing of the problem and asking me to start again from scratch, sending photos of my meter that I've already sent. When I ask for a call, they ignore me. Genuinely appalled that a supplier could be so incompetent - I would not recommend them to anyone!!
** Further to the response from Tomato Customer Care team, I understand that this is not the service you aim to provide - I am told this repeatedly when I contact you, but the point is you still have not corrected my bill!! Of course, this is the fault of the billing team - customer care have been nothing but polite and apparently helpful, yet everything you have promised has come to nothing, which is stressful to say the least. I would be so grateful if you could cut the smoke and mirrors and provide more actual 'care' and help.
*** And a further update - I have just been sent another outrageous bill, based on fabricated 'readings', for the last month since I registered my complaint! Now I can't enter my own actual readings because they are lower than the crazy estimate!! Clearly I have cancelled my direct debit and will not pay until this is resolved. Next step the Ombudsman. Please note that any positive reviews for this company are based on phone operatives who sound like angels but have no power whatsoever against their devil firm.
Top class customer service I must say from the team and Priya πͺ had British gas trying to take over my supply when I hadn't asked them to, took 2 days to sort out with them, but tomato energy was great! No way I want to leave tomato been saving so much.
