Unacceptable Billing Errors by Tomato Energy

I am deeply frustrated with Tomato Energy's billing accuracy. My July 2025 bill for the period of 1 June 2025 to 30 June 2025 was calculated using an estimated meter reading, despite my submission of actual meter readings on 29 June 2025 and 30 June 2025. This resulted in a discrepancy of 158 kWh. For context, my usage last month was less than 100 kWh, making the estimate over 1.5 times my typical consumption.This inaccurate estimate has led to a potentially inflated bill, which is completely unacceptable. I urge Tomato Energy to correct the bill using my submitted readings and overhaul their billing process to prevent such errors. This experience has completely eroded my trust in their service, and I highly NOT recommend Tomato Energy as a service provider. Once my contract term ends, I will switch to another provider and advise all my friends to avoid using Tomato Energy.

Initial complaint about account payment administration was not handled within their own complaints procedure which resulted in me speaking to a customer service team member. She checked her understanding of my complaint and worked diligently to resolve it to my full satisfaction. Great job.

Awful and Fraud company

Awful and Fraud company. They provided quote, accepted it and the switch never happened. This prior to price cap increasing March 25. No communication whatsoever. Out of pocket and will definitely be raising an Energy Ombudsman complaint. The company’s license to trade should be revoked with immediate effect. This rating is solely for the advisor Parghat not to the company.

Just another Utility company doing what it says on the can

Readings have gone through regularly, online access can on odd occasion be temperamental but generally, the rates are cheap for EV drivers and Tomato is just another utility company. One thing to just keep in mind. The billing is variable and you'll pay for what you use each month so winter might be a bit more painful when paying for consumption.

Great Customer service

Contacted Tomato energy about no bills being processed for last 2 months,call was answered promptly and Pargat was able to escalate the issue to billing team. Hopefully bills will be out soon.

Courtesy Call

Been with Tomato since 14/01/25 and today received a courtesy call from VJ to see how my experience had been so far. VJ was very polite and knowledgeable giving me more confidence that the switch was a good one. All of my experiences so far have been positive in terms of the switch, tracking usage, billing and payments. I’ve not had any reason to call on customer service but the call today was reassuring anyhow.
