Noise Pollution Violates UK Laws

Their new notification policy is a nightmare. I've been with them over a year. Suddenly when they take payment they text notifications overnight eg almost 1am or 7am when everyone is sleeping. Most people keep their phones open overnight eg for emergencies. Nothing gives them the right to wake us up. Email confirmations. Don't text!! I told them last month they had woken me up. I was fuming. They assured me they would turn off notifications. They did not. This month they texted me at 12.40AM!! This is highly unethical and violates UK noise pollution laws. Businesses cannot contact consumers outside reasonable business hours. This means 8am to 11pm.

I wish to profusely thank Talk Home staffer Mr Adam who provied excellent support through 'Chat' function on 5 July 2025. This Chat I tried after repeated failing to get anyone, even worse disconnection while trying to speak with Talk Home Mobile team. so their phone does not work but luckily chat worked and more luckily Mr Adam was fantastic. Thank you dear Adam

Not worthy of a star

My mother Patricia is 96 she has 3 types of cancer and she is deaf. For the last five years or so I have been organising her Talk Talk account on the phone. First of all it usually takes 35 to 40 minutes to get through to the department you need. I have trouble understanding the accents my mother has no chance. I arranged a contract last year that allowed her a £5. Discount. This was on the proviso that I ring every 3 months to renew the £5. Discount. I did this then out of the blue I am informed I am no longer allowed to do this. I have all the details passwords etc. So now my 96 year old mother looses her discount. She is very very sick and no way could she even lift the phone. If TalkTalk checked they would see the only time it is used is by visitors. I am so sad a company as big as Talk Talk treats a 96 year old lady with such disdain.

Mobile data keeps dropping out

Mobile data keeps dropping out - like everyday! Was ok, but stopped working for a day about a month ago, then rubbish ever since. Really frustrating when you're waiting for an important call. Difficult to get through to talk to anyone and if you can they just advise you to restart your phone. This sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, but will just keep cutting out again after a while anyway. Also seems to rely on mobile data to make calls so phone is practically useless.

Ordered my sim on a pay monthly deal

Ordered my sim on a pay monthly deal. It was slow to arrive and when it finally did It had problems. Several calls to customer service couldnt resolve it. The sim appeared to activate but didnt show in my account and was PAYG. Finally worked out they had sent me the wrong sim with a digit different in the number. The operator told me it should have gone to Diane and gave me her full address. Sim cancelled and resent. A week later and another sim and still cant get it to work as its PAYG. Called again and told to be patient and wait. Another day passed and guess what still not resolved so I am currently queued waiting to speak to tech support

Next day delivery????

I ordered a SIM card from them. It was advertised as the next "day delivery." I am waiting for nearly one week. I just received a request to add some more details. I ordered the SIM card on 24/03 and on 25/03 I had a message: "Hey , Your brand-new Talk Home SIM is on its way and will be with you very soon. Simply sit back, put your feet up, and look out for your post. We look forward to having you on our network. Thanks for choosing Talk Home." In fact it didn't arrive even with today's mail on 29/03.

Got there in the end albeit lots of follow-ups

First chat with customer services went exceptionally well. I thought all my questions were answered. I explained that I needed 5 sim plans for my family members and they answered my questions. I gave Talk Home a 5 star review. I then had problems ordering the the 5 sim plans for my family. I had a second chat with Customer Services and they clarified that I could only order sim plans for 3 family members (limit of 3 plans to the same address) when I needed 5 plans. In addition, it would take over a month to apply for the 3 sim plans in place - This was all very confusing and I revised my trust pilot review to 1 star. Talk Mobile then called me to apologise for the inconveniences and resolve my issues (thank you Peter). I've now revised this trust pilot rating to 4 stars.

I think two cans and a string would be better

I think two cans and a string would be more effective. At times great service- then drops out - NOTHING. In 15 mins - has dropped service 10 times....CS is slow - told me to manually use talk home. Still a problem. Switching over - after a week. Edit.... Can't get a stronger signal ...as I work on the opposite side of road from a huge EE transmitter. Edit 2 Talkhome contacted me again. Wanted to see if they can anything in exchange for me to remove my review. My review was honest and truthful and I am not into being blackmailed.
