Streets Ahead Estate Agents is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.

Georgina has been helping to schedule maintenance work on the flat that we’re letting and has been super helpful, polite and responsive.
My wife and I had a great experience moving into our new property, thanks to the process of searching for it and negotiating with Adem. Following up with Enzo with the viewing until I moved in was easy for us. Thank you for the opportunity to rent this home, as we really needed this space.
This is my first time renting and I will say it was a wonderful and stress-free experience. My special thanks go to Enzo who made it so easy.

The viewing I had in Purley was fine, but the property itself was completely mis-sold. The ad said "10 new refurbished flats", what is really was was a tiny, messy flat that had been let out for over a year since being "refurbished" and there were notes all over the hallway from other tenants complaining on noises and being charged by the management company when one flat doesn't empty their bins correctly. I then had a phone call from another of their agents asking me to put an offer in for a property I hadn't even seen. Her response was 'yeah but it's dead nice and it's gonna go really quickly so I advise you put in an offer'. After the viewing, they would not stop contacting me with other, irrelevant properties. I unsubscribed 3 times and blocked their number and they just kept emailing. Eventually I said I would take legal action as it was a GDPR violation which stopped them for a few weeks before the emails started again. So now I'm having to do a cease and desist...

Absolute timewasters. They completely live up to the unfortunate stereotype of a dodgy estate agent. If you're selling, I'd urge you not to list with them as they will over-inflate the value of your property to get you on their books, then encourage you to drop the price two or three times, rather than starting out with an honest valuation to manage your expectations. Just look on Rightmove at how many of their properties are marked as reduced. They also quote their commission at ridiculously high percentages which you have to then bargain down to anywhere near market levels. They promise viewers are very interested and to expect offers imminently, only to never get back to you with any updates. Just absolute dead silence for weeks. Plus when they do viewings, they carelessly leave doors unlocked and tramp mud in from outside. If you're buying they'll tell you your offer definitely won't be enough and push you to go higher, then next thing you'll hear is that the listing price has actually dropped as their pushy tactics haven't stirred up as much bidding as they thought it would. They're crooks and liars who will tell you anything to get you on their books but not make any effort to get in touch with you if sales don't happen quickly. Avoid at all costs.

They started off professionally when they visited in order to help sell my property. From that point onwards the service was poor. Instead of showing people around the property the agent would sit on the sofa checking his phone and would let people walk around my house unaccompanied (we have cameras in the house). They repeatedly left the front and back doors unlocked. They rarely kept in touch or provided feedback or updates - it was like a black hole. Eventually after 7 months of poor service and no sale I moved to another agent.

Once they have your money they truly do not care. You won't hear from them or have any matter sorted in a timely manner. I was a tenant - thankfully no more! But they also deal the same way with landlords (I know as kept in touch with mine) - if you want to be treated with respect and professionalism go with someone else…

We asked Streets ahead to value our property, but went with another agent who had a cheaper commission in the end. Since then we have been sent numerous emails and nuisence calls from Jason Paris who clearly isn't happy with our decision, even after asking for our details to be removed from their system we are still being emailed and called! I wish I never had them around to our house and if we fail to sell our house with our current estate agent, we definitely wont be going with Streets Ahead!

Disappointing, they lie about the actual total costs figures to move in. You pay them a holding deposit can't move and then they ignore you despite numerous calls and emails about getting a refund for said property.

Exact same experiences as those listed below. Plenty of contact and communication to receive deposits etc. but all communication dries up as soon as money changes hands. Never found out what branch we actually deal with and have been told we would receive call backs 7 times by 5 different people. We listed things we needed doing on hand over of the deposit and were told everything would be done only to find out from the landlord didn't have this information passed on to him. I even sent e-mails with queries we had we no response. It's a pain because streets ahead seem to have the nicest properties but seems like they have no clue about customer service.

I left a review: By far the worst estate agents I've ever dealt with. The degree of unprofessionalism they display is horrific and I regret ever renting with them. My partner and I have been renting from the 1st of December and have had nothing but trouble from them. It's remarkable how, before I signed the lease, I was pestered with calls and repeated emails urging me to rent a property with Streets Ahead. As soon as we signed and handed over our deposit, we heard nothing more from them. We were constantly passed from person to person when we tried to enquire further with regards to our moving in. When we eventually received the keys to the property we discovered that the house was in an utterly disgusting state. It was evident that NOTHING had been cleaned. The toilet seat was completely broken, ELEVEN lightbulbs needed to be replaced. There were clumps of hair on the floor, congealed food glued to the fridge and unwanted junk (including a pair of dirty socks, thanks) that the previous tenants left. We immediately wrote a detailed letter outlining everything that was broken/required repair and requested that the house be cleaned to habitable standards as we were due to move in that weekend. We heard... nothing. The next day we tried to call the office three times. Each time we were told that our property manager - Kelly Alleyne - was on another call, but would return our call as soon as she was free. We heard... nothing. We then went to the office the following day (in the middle of trying to move) to speak to the manager, Kunal Patel. He certainly made all the appropriate noises, claimed Kelly was off sick the day before (?!?!?!?!?) but she would respond to us the next week. No apology was made for the state of the property, no remuneration offered. I did indeed receive a message from Kelly as promised (I have come to learn, this is a miracle) assuring me she would call later. SPOILER ALERT. She did not call. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the picture. We have been emailing and calling for TWO MONTHS trying to sort out the most basic of amenities. It took six weeks to receive an inventory checklist which was promised to us the day we moved in. We eventually received compensation for the mess we found the property in, but all the repair work they promised would take place as not occurred. We currently have no lights in the bathroom or lounge and barely any light in the kitchen because we are waiting for repair work to be taken out by Streets Ahead. However, as Kelly as ignored the last six emails we have sent, I doubt this will happen. AVOID STREETS AHEAD AT ALL COSTS ** Helpful Hint ** If you are a current tenant renting through Streets Ahead, and have trouble with them, contact the landlord directly and make them aware of the situation. They're an appalling company who don't deserve any business.

A Steetsahead croydon lettings agent imposted as a prospective tenant to my openrent lettings ad and fixed a viewing. Didn’t turn up but used my personal details on viewing confirmation email to market their services. The marketing letter was sent by the lettings manager so presumably they all think this was clever and acceptable.

Streets Ahead mission statement reads: "To be the most professional, caring and expert estate agent our clients, our community and the public come into contact with, whilst still ensuring that our commitment to staff training and innovation remains second to none enabling every client to have a smooth and stress free move." However, this has far from been the case in my experience. They lack professionalism and have made the move-in process extremely stressful. I am a landlord and my prospective tenants gave them specific instructions to let me know: 1. have the flat professionally cleaned, and 2. remove some items of furniture Streets Ahead failed to communicate both these things to me, and as a result of their cock-up the initial introductory meeting between the tenants and myself was pretty tense. NOT how I envisaged it. Furthermore, I tried to contact the lettings manager (George Potter) on 3 occasions, and he has shied away from talking to me because he probably hasn't got any answers. I have asked him to call me back as well and he refused to do so. They also seriously lack attention to detail. I had to sign an amended tenancy agreement because they couldn't spell the tenant's name correctly, despite me pointing it out to them in the first instance. It's only when the tenant himself pointed it out that they accepted their mistake. Stay away from these agents if you want a stress=free experience. Their communication skills for the most part is a complete shambles. Instead of dealing with one person, you have to deal with 5, and then it's simply a game of Chinese Whispers. Unprofessional, unethical and unfair is how I would describe their work ethic. I paid almost £200 for emergency professional cleaning which could have been avoided if Streets Ahead had successfully passed on the message that it needed doing.
