I ordered £60 worth of goods from Approved Food, and the experience has been nothing short of appalling. The parcel arrived in an unacceptable condition: crushed beyond belief. Crisps were reduced to crumbs, protein bars bent out of shape, chocolates broken, and the tea bag box torn open with the contents spilling everywhere. I contacted Approved Food, providing photos as evidence, and requested a refund for the damaged goods. Their response? A dismissive reference to their terms and conditions, claiming that goods can arrive damaged “due to the nature of their business.” This is an outrageous justification for what is clearly poor handling and service. Such disregard for quality and customer satisfaction is entirely unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and strongly advise others to look elsewhere.
Absolutely appalling service! The items I got sent out were extremely poor quality, stickers and writing all over the damaged boxes. They then stole 75p off of me as I had to arrange to send them back and they expected to pay £3 postage for the return of the items that shouldn't have passed quality control in the first place! They don't care about customer service at all. Avoid at all costs people!!!
I used to love this company, but now it has gone really down and they don't even care. I did close my account but decided to give them another try after a few months They charged an extra £2 for next day delivery, which I didn't get and then made it sound like they were doing me a special favour by refunding it. There are other companies that do the same kind of thing but with better Customer Service
4 for £1 Includes big brands - Cadburys, Kellogs, Hotel Chocolate, Fibre One, Nakd, Knorrs, Yorkshire Tea, Coca Cola, Swizzles, Lindt, and so much more... Items are selected at completely random. Most items have RRPs of over £1. All BBE dates are 2022. Photo for illustrative purposes only. No returns or refunds Was disappointed with the above item - when delivered I received one bottle of water (never heard of make),one single snack bar, a small tub of tomato salsa and the only half decent item was a single can of sanpellegrino. Their luck dips have gone very much so down hill !!!
Delivery driver left my parcel on the front doorstep, visible from the main road, whilst I was out. Customer Service said it was a 'secure place!!!' 🤬 Suffice to say, it was not there when I returned home. Refused to refund me!!! 🤬 I have told them not to leave parcels unattended... Date is approximate, as I wasn't there!
I am really surprised to read other comments that Approved Foods customer service is very poor. This is not my experience at all. I have been a customer of Approved Foods for some years. On the very odd occasion an item was missing from an order or broken in transit customer service always sorted out the issue very promptly. Recently I contacted their customer service to more advise rather than expect any sort of refund for 3 bottles of wine which IMO were undrinkable. The bottle I opened went down the sink! My email to their customer service was replied to within 24 hours. I am getting a refund for the bottle that went down the sink and the company has arranged for the other 2 bottles to be returned at their cost tomorrow and I will get a refund for those too. You cannot ask for better customer service than that! As well as great service you can get some fantastic bargains, you just have to look at their stock regularly as it changes basically daily.I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Thank you to Beth who is the customer service rep I have dealt with recently.
Great if you're a runner, cyclist and/or use the gym - plenty of high energy/protein gels, snacks, Soreen, shakes and hydration items at the moment. Love that it stops some of the food waste. I've made 8 orders in the past month (gulp). All delivered quickly, very well packaged and no breakages. Standard delivery seems to take two days to dispatch and one day to arrive for me. I tried fast track delivery once and it arrived next day (ordered before 3pm). Really great for a small company. I've had a couple of items that were out of stock after ordering, these were refunded to my Approved Foods account. I've had two orders with missing items, the first I didn't report as it was just two little Milky Way bars, the second time it was a larger item. I emailed after delivery on a Saturday (out of hours) and received a reply Monday morning with the options for it to be sent out or refunded. It was all sorted quickly, fantastic service - shout out to Beth!. I will definitely be ordering again.
Great value for products that are still worth buying despite being passed it's BBE. They also used a courier service that kept me up to date every step of the way (DX). Excluding my latest order (Sept 24), It had been a couple of years since I last made a purchase from Approved Food, and even efter that time gap, I still found my experience with them good enough to use again. I would recommend to those looking to buy on a budget and hate the idea of food going to waste.
Easy to order on line, delivery made within a good time frame, all items were as listed. Box was left on front doorstep 10am in full view of main road by DX express, not great. I was surprised it was still there when we got home after 3.45pm. Would consider not ordering again just because of the delivery which is a shame because the items were good value. reading other feedback i feel this is something Approved foods should deal with.
I really like Approved Foods & we've had some fantastic bargains! However the fly in the ointment is this.I added a case of cat food to my order & upon checking out was asked to remove it. I had to 'cos I couldn't check out. Same problem with tinned tomatoes. I ordered 3 cases of tinned tomatoes @ £1 each. Should've had 18 tins but got 3. Argued that these were never case deals even though picture showed 6 tins. Got fedup of saying Then on another order, I had 2 cartons of Soy milk removed plus a 1p lucky box. I was fully logged into my account, was well within the time items are reserved in my basket. I complained 3 times, just got the answer that I had to make sure I was logged into my account. I was! How could I have added items to my basket otherwise & paid?! I find their customer service crap, sorry but it is & yet the new vamped up site is a dream! I just cannot fault them, swift delivery but the CS is terrible & not fit for purpose. I even asked them to add the 1p lucky box to my order & I'd pay for it. This they never did
Absolutely terrible, dont even bother ordering! Placed an order, only 11 items out of 41 delivered! Customer service is absolutely terrible!! I wouldn't even class it as customer service. Numerous Days after delivery company sent 2nd parcel back to approved foods due to approved foods apparently not labelling correctly . Items still not received, nor any refund or correspondence about this. Absolutely disgusted. Now have lost financially and dont have any of the products i was hoping on for a party. Advice--- dont use approved foods, far better sites out there with far better customer service. Been a customer for years, and recently came back to use again.. Big mistake on my part Wont be a returning customer
Charge you £2.50 to cancel an order that hasn't even been picked or packed yet. I did complain and managed to get the cancellation fee back which is why I will give them 3 stars instead of the 1 I was originally going with (their support is at least compromising/understanding). But I have never seen a site charge to cancel an order before it had started to be processed before (I cancelled literally minutes after placing order when realised I had made a mistake) so can't take this company seriously. The products also seem quite expensive considering the majority of them are already past their sell by date.
I’d buy the mystery box again…it’s sweet, savoury, with snacks + pantry food, thoughtful + excellent value. All other items + service have been spot - on too. Happy !
I have been a customer for many years, and have often resolved not to waste my time with it again. But although the website is clunky, I couldn't resist the allure after getting an email from them. I was just about to check out this morning, having spent more time than it was worth trying to fill my basket. First of all, the price of some items I'd added yesterday increased. I get that - it was yesterday's deal. But then two of the items in my basket were suddenly sold out, despite a promise on the website, with a timer, that goods will be held while you are actively shopping. I wasted good time tracking these items down to fill my basket, then suddenly they were taken away from me??? Sorry Approved Food, I'm over you (again)!
Apparently there is no costumer service - I’ve sent emails / messages / Facebook messages and tried calling and nothing - no one home it seems to give me a refund on orders I’ve waited a week for
I ordered from Approved Food when they first opened, and quality and service was always there. I dropped off ordering for a long time, but placed an order recently. I ordered some make up, and on opening the box, the foundation had heavily leaked in the box, with some items in poly bags, others not. What was clear was the items had been used as there was no seal on many and looked used. Same applied to the lipsticks, the container was sticky with smeared lipstick, a few had hairs stuck to the containers, and again they had clearly had been used. I even had an Amazon sticker on some of the items, which made me feel it was a return from Amazon, and they had bought in used/returned stock. All items have been binned as they too disgusting to use. I haven’t contacted customer service because after reading the reviews on here, there is no point, so a lesson to myself. This is the last time I will be ordering from them. Save your hard earned cash, it’s not worth it.
Slow dispatch and delivery. Items arrived damaged and 2 large crisp bags open with the contents all in the box and subsequently had to be thrown away. When I contacted customer services to inform them, it was a voicemail message ( leave your name , order number, contact details and issue and someone will get back to you within 24-48 hours - 7 days later no-one has got back to me. Would avoid this company like the plague.
Stetua didn't change, chased an told was out for delivery that day when it wasn't. Was told it was in transit another day it wasn't. They said they'd contact the currier and get back to me and didn't. Eventually after weeks they admitted it went missing couldn't deliver the items I ordered and id ger a refund in 30 days. Scam. I've since read they deliver items up to 4 years out of date?!
I've a few orders from approved food and have been aware of the best by dates, no issues at all, not until the last order. I ordered a value box, fortunately it was only £1.50, most of the contents were damage, one item was dated 2020 expiry. I decided to bin them due to health reasons, another item looked as though it had been used and obviously returned to Amazon, I received a credit for the item very promptly. I will continue to purchase but highly recommend not to purchase the bargin boxes, they are not worth the the money. Customer service is very good.

Consumers express a mix of satisfaction and frustration with Approved Food. On the positive side, many reviewers appreciate the good prices and the variety of snacks and treats available, noting that some items are great bargains. Additionally, a few customers commend the prompt service and helpful customer support when issues arise. However, a significant number of complaints highlight serious concerns about product quality, with reports of expired items, damaged packaging, and poor handling during delivery. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the prevalence of negative feedback regarding product quality and service leads to a generally unfavorable sentiment.
