Easily the worst Airlines Very bad customer service. Their customer service team and hotline are by far the worst I have ever experienced. Please never use this airline. These people will show how not to run an airline easily. Not worth for anything.

Myself and my husband have always dreamed of a honeymoon to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, so we chose Sri Lanka airlines as it seemed the better option at the time. When we arrived on board (the plane was delayed) a very full plane sat down to enjoy a nice drink. Tried to turn the entertainment systems on and they both were not working. I tried to get help but the flight attendant couldn't help us. So we had to sit through a 13hour flight with nothing. I also tried to use and buy the internet from my phone but it charged me and also didn't work. I changed our seats on the inbound flight hoping the seat change would give us better luck but no. Same sorry excuse of technology. So on return I made a complaint to the customer service and received emails back from a lady called Indeevari. Well she was next to useless. Very bad attitude and could only offer a voucher for the onboard shop. After many emails back and forth we had no option but to accept. She didn't mention that you actually had to be on board and couldn't just send them direct to us. We also had to use them within 12months. We we had been saving a very long time for our honeymoon and can't just grab a flight to Sri Lanka willy nilly. She completely wasted my time and put more undue stress and anxiety on myself and my husband. If it wasn't for Sri Lanka itself being amazing Sri Lankan airline would have ruined a dream holiday/honeymoon. Never again will I fly with this joke of an airline. We were not the only couple to have trouble either there were many systems not working and people were not happy. A hole row of 4 wasn't working on the way home. A whole family with 2 young children had nothing for 13hrs!
Had an issue where my bag was lost along the way to Sri Lanka. It was actually misplaced by United in the States prior to arriving to Sri Lanka. However Sri Lankan airlines took control of the situation and was able to procure me a full refund of the necessary items I had to purchase for the three days without my luggage.
No refund ,2 months ,21 days Dear Sri Lankan Airlines Team, Good day!!!, I cancelled my booking on October 31,2019 for flight Srilankan airways from Melbourne to cochin on DECEMBER 4,2019. Booking code : PGYERJ Passengers: 3 passengers No refund has been processed yet. Booked trough Travel agent- Travelgeno, They are saying waiting to hear from the airways . Now its more than 2 months for refund. Hoped I get a reply positive from your end Kindly do the necessary to start refunding the money you owe me after deduction of cancellation fees. it is unethical to delay the refund amount to customers. Reading everyone's reviews made me think twice about using Sri lankan. Qatar in april was a shambles so decided even tho the reviews were awful, i tried sri lankan.... And i was NOT disappointed. Staff great, 2 alcoholic drinks at a time. Lol Good food, snacks and entertainment. 10.15 hrs from London to Colombo is better than a 4 hour wait in the middle east for a connection. And 100s of pounds cheaper. Sri lankan will be our choice , always from now on and after 6 times on hols to Sri Lanka we wont use nobody else to fly with. Thanks Sri lankan air xx

I think this is the worst airline.ground staff to cabin crew are disgusting.very poor customer service,can’t get hold of any representative over the phone,deliberately damage to the baggage, Have to wait for ever to get a small compensation. Never going to fly again 🤬
That was awful.. i came at the desk 58 minutes before the flight and they said the desk is already closed. I had an online check-in and wanted just to drop the luggage.
We booked flights to Sri Lanka in September however following the recent events decided we no longer felt comfortable flying there. We have been charged £235 per person to cancel which given the circumstances I feel is disgusting. They’re not losing out on anything really as our seats can be re-sold so what the £235 each is for is absolutely beyond me. This company are incredibly difficult to liaise with over email (I can’t take phone calls at work) and a different member of staff replies every time so there’s no consistency. Overall I would say don’t bother, if you can fly with literally anyone else!!
Beware there is a high possibility that the flight can depart transit point especially Colombo, without you boarding the flight inspite of having a boarding pass. My mother travelled on wheel chair assistance from Chennai to Melbourne. The gate authorities in Colombo kept delaying the Wheelchair boarding to the last minute, to the extent that as soon as she got into the flight, the doors were closed. All these after she made repeated pleads to the ground staff atleast 20 times in her 1 and half hour transit. Everytime she was sent back, why do you have to hurry, dont worry we will take care My mother also told she met a co passenger who could not board the flight due to this careless attitude of ground staff. Never ever in the aviation history have i heard of a wheelchair passenger treated so badly during flight boarding process. Will never ever book this flight even to my enemy.
Sri Lankan refused to compensate us for the flights with their airline THEY caused us to miss, had to book flight with another airline when our connecting flight was cancelled due to a technical issue. Left us out of pocket well over £1000 and made us wait around the airport to fight amongst locals for help. Eventually refused to help us and would have had us sleep on the floor in an Indian airport. Out of 4 flights booked with Sri Lankan only 1 was successful, didn't get any compensation for the other 3. AVOID.

I chose this airline as there is no other direct flight to Sri lanka. Nothing is perfect in this company. You will never be able to contact Srilankan airline through phone.They will give you enough liquor. But food is horrible.Some of the online entertainment not working. People are travelling with Sri lankans as there is no any other direct flight.
We booked return flights Singapore to Muscat via Colombo. 5 days before our flight home, the airline called to say our return flight was cancelled. A scheduled flight. Cancelled for "operational reasons". We were told to wait 24 hours for another flight with no compensation offered. Although the airline had a code share with Oman Air and could have put us on that flight an hour later (it had a lot of empty seats) they refused to. Do not go near this airline.
I work for a travel agent who works on behalf of the customer. We have been misinformed by the airline that services are included, which aren't - and then Sri Lankan airlines are not willing to negotiate on the face they are in the wrong - their staff are unbelievably horrendous - VERY RUDE, they do not listen - they talk to you like your an idiot and are not happy to provide you with good customer service. Also trying to speak to a manager is not possible as the excuse is always the manager is not available - I have been on the phone to them over the course on 2 days for a total of over 4 hours. DO NOT EXPECT ANY RESOLUTION FROM THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Me and my partner booked our flight as a single booking, when we departed the UK we sat together and was no problems in out automatically booked seats, on the way to London from Sri Lanka we were given seats by very very rude check in staff where we were at the opposite end of the plane, my partner is not such a good flyer so this was a big problem, when we went to enquire about this at the check in the staff were not interested and only wanted to speak among each other rather than help a paying customer, Through security we were told out seats would be changed..... That never happened, on the flight we were told our seats will be changed.... That never happened either, very disappointed about this I did complain on the company website but have received very little feedback and poor responses Highly doubt I would look to fly with them again
