Outdated joke of an airline
Myself and my husband have always dreamed of a honeymoon to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, so we chose Sri Lanka airlines as it seemed the better option at the time. When we arrived on board (the plane was delayed) a very full plane sat down to enjoy a nice drink. Tried to turn the entertainment systems on and they both were not working. I tried to get help but the flight attendant couldn't help us. So we had to sit through a 13hour flight with nothing. I also tried to use and buy the internet from my phone but it charged me and also didn't work. I changed our seats on the inbound flight hoping the seat change would give us better luck but no. Same sorry excuse of technology. So on return I made a complaint to the customer service and received emails back from a lady called Indeevari. Well she was next to useless. Very bad attitude and could only offer a voucher for the onboard shop. After many emails back and forth we had no option but to accept. She didn't mention that you actually had to be on board and couldn't just send them direct to us. We also had to use them within 12months. We we had been saving a very long time for our honeymoon and can't just grab a flight to Sri Lanka willy nilly. She completely wasted my time and put more undue stress and anxiety on myself and my husband. If it wasn't for Sri Lanka itself being amazing Sri Lankan airline would have ruined a dream holiday/honeymoon. Never again will I fly with this joke of an airline. We were not the only couple to have trouble either there were many systems not working and people were not happy. A hole row of 4 wasn't working on the way home. A whole family with 2 young children had nothing for 13hrs!
