Hot water issues

I’ve very happy with my skuma the only thing I have a issue with is the hot water just not hot enough for tea and coffee with milk

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.

This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.

It’s mostly great but ……

I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

Great and unique system

It’s a great system that works well. The option to add in electrolytes and other vitamins and minerals makes it a good proposition at the price. The only thing I’d say that would make the filter system better is to add a pipe to the waste water so that it can drain out faster without having to constantly remove the waste water jug, but otherwise, highly recommended.

How did I live before this

My Skuma arrived and it was really easy to set up. Took a bit longer than expected (about 30 minutes), but the process was easy, set up video was helpful, and now I am up and running with better water. No more tap water, and the convenience of instant boiling water is great to have in the kitchen now.

A first class water machine taste the difference and feel great

Firstly I bought the Sküma water machine 2 months ago and thought I would see how it would make a difference to my life . After a couple of teething problems which were down to me more than this machine and the amazing and friendly customer service the Sküma has become my favourite purchase over the last ten yrs . Its design is both sleek and attractive and sits perfectly anywhere in the house. I love the options of hot or cold which cleverly happens to be the correct temperature for the body not too cold just right . I also think the added bonus of infusions give you that extra something when needed . Whether it be for sports or just good health . Can I also say my job as a massage therapist gives my clients the chance to taste the quality of the water for complete rehydration and yes it’s as close to natural spring water as you can get . Another great advantage is the waste water it produces which you can then recycle to water your houseplants. All in all my skin feels amazing and my energy levels have improved significantly. I would recommend this machine without any hesitation and yes there are cheaper water machines on the market but for around £340 you won’t find better . I have affiliation to this company and this is a completely independent and unbiased review from myself a very satisfied customer.

Don't buy! Read the feedback below!

Don't get influenced! Do not buy it! Save up and get a real filter for your house (Pure Water or Harvey Water) The taste of the water is great, the rest... it's just awful! I had my device for 1 month and it broke down, one of the water cap in one of the tanks, a replacement part was sent pretty quickly. Then the device started leaking after 2 months of usage. They offered a refurbishment that doesn't ensure it will work after repairs. Given the fact that it broke down 1 month after using it, I said no to the repairs and had to ask about a full replacement (it was not offered as an option at first). I had the customer support person to respond to WhatsApp messages late at night as the centre is scattered across the globe. Pretty standard for startups nowadays but they claim the core hours to be 9 to 5 pm UK time. No it is not. So unless I was up and ready to message customer support at night I had to wait 24 hours for a response. I had the pleasure to speak with the CEO that took my feedback but then this happened... I received a voucher (I had to suggest this to them), of £25 that cannot be used on the subscription infusion (the lower cost) but only on the one-off purchase which is around £34 worth. So the £25 wasn't even enough to cover the cost of 1 infusion. After I had to spend money to buy a Brita filter and bottled water for over a month while I was waiting for the device to be fixed/replaced. Anyway, the replacement device came but.... there was no water tray with it!!!!!!! So obviously NOT a new device - I asked but it was never confirmed. Then customer support separately sent me a water tray, it came... without the metal drainer to put on top of the black plastic base!!! At this point I think this is a joke???? £300 worth of device that doesn't work, and months of dealing with customer support and still I receive missing bits and pieces. I asked for a full refund now as I'm questioning the actual quality of the product, is it even safe? Is this device being tested thoroughly? Is it worth the money? And the stress of dealing with it?

Marked difference in taste and water softness

There is a marked difference in both taste and hardness of water after passing through the Skuma filter system. For that alone, the Skuma is highly recommended. The filter unit itself is quite well-made, but a few small cosmetic niggles hold it back (cup tray feels quite cheap, and the different modules/tanks for the filter don't line up when fitted to the base). We use our unit on a daily basis, and have found it a very useful addition to our home. The filter has a low hum when running, but is otherwise silent. The only minor inconvenience is the small waste water tank, which needs emptying regularly; especially if you use more than a couple of litres of filtered water a day.

Brilliant Machine and Customer Service

I've had my skuma for over a year now and it has to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. Clean instant Hot and Cold re-mineralised water. I love my coffee and the Skuma machine let's you choose the ideal temperature you need. I had a few teething problems after I purchased the machine and needed replacement parts but the customer service team was brill and helped me get my machine running again. I do regular TDS tests so I always know my water is clean.

Seamless Transition from Tap and Brita to Clean Hot and Cold Mineral Water!

Great user experience and seamless transition to a filtered water system from tap and brita filter. Other solutions would have left us without option for filtered hot water .. my girlfriend likes her hot water so this is a perfect solution covering cold and hot water.. the massive water tank means less refilling and it normally lasts a day or so, which is brilliant.. compared to the many brita jugs I’d go through on a daily basis, and they take all the minerals out so I need to substitute with Baltic salts.. not with Sküma! Effortless!. All in all a great product and great experience!!
