Hot water issues
I’ve very happy with my skuma the only thing I have a issue with is the hot water just not hot enough for tea and coffee with milk
Sküma Water is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.
This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.
I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

Quick delivery, easy set up and great tasting water. The only regret is not ordering my SKÜMA sooner. 5 stars!

We love our Skuma water machine. As a family we use it all the time for all our drinking water needs. The hot water feature is handy for making cups of herbal tea when you want the water cooler than boiling point. We did have some issues with our first machine and customer service was clunky but they eventually replaced it with a new machine which seems to be working fine. We have been using Skuma for a year now and are happy with our machine.

I have received the new model, 5.3. With some initial teething problems with the unit working. I got on to Sküma support and apart from slow response from them. I got thing a working with their help. Some of it was user error! The unit is a bit plasticky. Noisy when it’s filtering water. Which is always it seems between pours. However living in Brighton. The water here is terrible. So much chlorine added to it. The unit is working flawlessly. Going for 3 to four people using it. The kids are drinking a lot of water. I dread to think how much that water would have cost as bottled water. The mineral supplements are working well. Last about a month with 2 kids drinking a lot of water. I would recommend. As apart from the cost. I can see it paying for itself easily. Water never running out. Means we drink more if it. As long I’m filling it up. Which is about 2-3 times a day. With 4 people. Twice a day with 3 ( one a kid who uses water to gulp food! , chewing is too difficult)

I throw kettle away when I purchased on 12th august this year. I was disappointed with skuma water. The temperature is fine 80% but i pressed max is steaming but no water comes out. The water is warm to drinking. I have press low heater it working but very warm water to drink. It’s not good.

For a long time I had been looking for a better solution to filtered water than say the filter jug. Skuma came up on indeigogo and we backed the product from the start. Having filtered water was nothing new but Skuma's super filter lasts a year! Along with adding the minerals back into the water as it's being pour was all plus points for me not to mention hot water on tap for tea and coffee. I early first gen model had some issues after a while which Skuma replaced. Although I had to wait some months for this to arrive as I was assured some improves where to be made internally. I enjoy my Skuma every day and find everyone in the family drinking more water.

Quick delivery and nice water! It fits really well in the kitchen and is really easy to set up. The design is modern and sleek and filters a lot of water 👍🏼 Great addition to my house

I was an indigogo backer for the Skuma project, so have seen it develop over the years. The team has gone through growing pains at times, but in all honestly they've always got things resolved. Sometimes it might take a week or so. The water tastes great, I like how they've now got refill packets that saves on transport costs and overall cost of the subscription. My family loves using it, and we use both the hydrate and the coffee balance additives. The machine is used daily, and we must go through well over 100L of water a month.

Update - April 2025 Following this review, Skuma did reach out again and we were eventually sent a replacement filter (and another one as an apology). It has worked fine since. Overall the product is good, it works well and does what it says. The water tastes much better than out of the tap. We have very hard water and this makes a huge difference. It was a shame what happened with the replacement filter. Hopefully it was just a one off occurrence. We’ve had the Skuma water filter for six months, and it started out great. But when we received an email reminding us to replace the filter, things went downhill quickly. After purchasing a new filter for £40, we followed the instructions carefully and ran it through the required flushing cycle. Shockingly, the water now tasted worse than standard tap water, with a strong chlorine-like, chemical taste that was far from filtered. We reached out to Skuma’s customer support, and they walked us through the flushing process again. By the end, we had wasted over 12 liters of water with no improvement in taste after three flushes. Customer service assured us they’d send a replacement filter two weeks ago, but we’re still waiting. Our follow-up messages (via their WhatsApp support) haven’t helped much, either; initially, they promised it would be dispatched with a tracking number the next day, yet nothing has arrived, and now we’re receiving no response at all. At this price point, I expected a reliable product and supportive customer service. This experience has been disappointing, and unless Skuma can rectify this, I can’t recommend their product or service.

This product has led to my teenage son drinking water and is a really easy way for him to add supplementary vitamin D to his diet. Customer service has been excellent and I really like the consideration of environmental impact when adapting products.
