Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.

This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.

It’s mostly great but ……

I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

So far so good with Sküma :)

I wanted to switch from plastic bottled water to a filter machine and came across Sküma. Much more convenient than others as it is freestanding on the countertop with a water tank and just plugs in - no need for plumbing. The design is sleek and elegant looks like an expensive coffee machine. It’s easy to use. I like the fact you can infuse minerals of your choice into the water too. The waste water is great for my plants. I had some queries in the buying/ installing phase and the company were easy to contact and responded quickly on instagram. I am enjoying my purchase. So far so good with Sküma.

Ordered my first infusion refill and it was a straight forward process. Subscribe and save is a good idea for the refills as you can make sure you never run out and save money at the same time.

After having first machine replaced…

After having first machine replaced even though I requested money back within the 30 days was fobbed off & given another machine which now has leaky waste box & has flooded my kitchen numerous times , was told 2 months ago we will send new waste box out & a free mineral bottle , still not received anything , awful machine & even worse company to deal with have asked for money back many times due to machine being faulty but just keep being fobbed off . Wouldn't recommend

Avoid this company at all costs unless you enjoy chasing your own money for weeks

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Sküma Water has been nothing short of frustrating, exhausting, and deeply disappointing. I strongly caution anyone considering purchasing from them—because if anything goes wrong, you will be left fighting tooth and nail for your own money. My ordeal began when Sküma failed to deliver my order on time, citing internal delays. Fine, delays happen. But when I decided to cancel my order and request a refund, that’s when the real nightmare began. Despite multiple emails requesting a refund, Sküma ignored my messages, responding only sporadically and avoiding direct answers. When they finally did respond, they insisted on a phone call to process the refund—an absurd and unnecessary step in any normal e-commerce transaction. A simple refund should require nothing more than an order number, yet they deliberately added hurdles to stall the process. Still til this day —no refund, no resolution, just more hoops to jump through. Avoid this company at all costs unless you enjoy chasing your own money for weeks.

Brilliant machine

Brilliant machine It sounds strange to say you can taste the difference so clearly. I keep my fridged and take it everywhere in a Yeti flask. The hot water feature is handy aswel. Overall I’m really satisfied with this product

I’m disappointed in my experience with…

I’m disappointed in my experience with skuma . I purchased my first machine in January 24 . I experienced nothing but problems. After taking this up with customer service I eventually got a replacement machine . It then developed a fault towards the end of the year despite keeping up with maintenance. I contacted customer services again which again is all through email. I went back & forth with the gentleman in question to avail and this went on till the end of December . I was admitted to hospital during this time and was asked for constant photos which I explained I’d sent and was otherwise in hospital. I never heard from them again & have been left with a faulty machine that doesn’t work at all . Two filters . A maintenance kit & the added minerals etc . These are not of use to me at all . I did not even get a full years use from the second machine which malfunction within less than a year I really wouldn’t recommend buying this at all . Going back and forth countless emails when it’s obvious the machine isn’t working and needed replacing and was in its guarantee should have been straightforward not weeks of emails photos & questions .

Excellent filtering and good customer service.

Filters water really well, the only filter I have found that removes all unpleasant tastes including completely removing chlorine. Had some initial problems with the length of the tube and how the lids fitted but the customer service was very responsive in correcting these issues.
