Hot water issues
I’ve very happy with my skuma the only thing I have a issue with is the hot water just not hot enough for tea and coffee with milk
Sküma Water is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.
This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.
I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

Love my Skuma! Safe in the knowledge that it's getting rid of all nasties that really shouldn't be there anyway! Large glass of water first thing, then on with my day! Highly recommended!

The unit took some time to arrive. Works ok though and the water tastes great. The waste water has to be emptied a bit more frequently than I had expected as we're not in a hard water area. Despenses a little more than the amount you set it to but it's easy enough to stop mid-flow.

The Skuma produces great tasting water, is sleek and looks good in my kitchen, and is easy to use. Initially I had some issues with my Skuma that took a while to get resolved, but after a phone call with Alex things were made clearer and he went above and beyond to make up for the mess around that happened before. I look forward to seeing where this company will go as the future sounds promising!

My fiancé and I are absolutely loving this machine—it’s genuinely been a game-changer for us. It’s helped us drink so much more water throughout the day, and the taste is amazing. We’re also obsessed with the infusions; they add such a refreshing twist that we didn’t even know we needed. Honestly, we can’t say enough good things about this machine—it’s that impressive.

A fantastic water filter machine. The water from this tastes amazingly clean and crisp. The different mineral sachets available is a great feature and it's nice to have the option to choose different mineral ratios. I'd highly reccomend Skuma for anyone wanting better drinking water

My partner and I purchased a Portable Reverse Osmosis System from Skuma through Amazon and received it in November 2024. It has taken six months to receive a full refund for a faulty device that was sold to us with misleading information. The filter developed a fault within a month, causing water to pool around the unit with every use. We reported this to Skuma and after two months of contradictory and unhelpful correspondence, erratically switching between email and WhatsApp, they asked us to fix the device ourselves, instead of issuing a replacement. In good faith, we agreed as they said it would be quicker and we wanted to support the company and their mission. Skuma sent a replacement part without instructions. After chasing, we received an instructional video. Following these instructions, we opened the unit and found that the spout within the machine had cracked through normal use, suggesting it was poor quality. After completing the repair for the leak, the device developed an electrical fault, making it highly unsafe for use as it would dispense hot water at random. It was through this process that we discovered that the dispensing spout through which hot water passes is plastic. This is contradictory to the misleading claim in Skuma’s manual that hot water passes through a “100% stainless steel hot water module” before being dispensed. The suggestion of a lack of plastic in contact with filtered hot water had been a key condition of us purchasing Skuma’s product due to our desire to reduce BPA, plasticisers and endocrine disruptors that leach out of plastic when heated. We raised these issues with Skuma and, after much back and forth (including persistent and inappropriate offers to “personally connect” with their CEO over a phone call), they acknowledged our concerns and agreed to fully refund us, on 25 February. Our refund took six weeks and only arrived after we had chased them several times, despite repeated claims from Skuma that it was being processed. To summarise our issues are as follows: - Misleading product information about plastic - Filtered hot water passes through a plastic spout before being dispensed, despite Skuma’s product information suggesting this is not the case. The plastic spout was only possible to see after manually repairing the inner components of the unit (i.e. this is not evident within normal use). - Low quality product design for expensive product - A significant leak developed within a month of use because of poor quality components. This is not good enough for a product with a current RRP of £459. - Unprofessional, dishonest and inadequate customer service: Skuma have a chaotic and unprofessional customer service approach that does not address issues fast enough. It has been necessary for us to constantly follow-up to ensure action is being taken, which has been unbelievably time-consuming. In addition, on several occasions we have been told that a specific action has been taken, before later finding out that this was untrue (e.g. processing of refund). - Significant delay in issuing refund once agreed - I can only assume that Skuma would not have refunded us without our persistence. I would strongly urge anyone planning to make a purchase from Skuma to take account of our experience and avoid wasting your money and time.

So we have been distilling our water for over a decade, it’s a long process. We was looking for a table top filter than gives clean water and this is it. The difference when you use the infusion is that it makes the water taste better and smooth. Our family have other machines and have all remarked on the Skuma being cleaner and tastier. We have been using hydration infusions but I will be trying the others. Can’t remember drinking so much water. I have also found by email the customer service to be very prompt. Thank you

We wanted some nice glass water bottles to use for drinking water as otherwise we tend to forget and not drink enough. Bought two of them and they’re lovely. Unfortunately my partner dropped the lid on his and managed to chip it! Otherwise have been great!
