Hot water issues

Not fit for purpose depending on your water type. Three years extended product and customer service warranty and completely ignored for 6 months when dealing diedtly with the CEO. £600 out of pocket with a product that worked for a total of 2 months of a 8 month period.

This is the third review I have written for Skuma. I had various difficulties with my machine. On my previous trust pilot review, I stated that the company and I were working together to find an outcome that worked for us both. This has now happened and we have agreed a solution we are both satisfied with, which is why I have given a 5 star rating.

It’s mostly great but ……

I do like my machine but there are some things I don’t like. It can be a lot of work at times. I dread doing the cleaning bit, the worst of it being getting the filter out of the machine. I’m 76 and I haven’t got the strength to do this. In order to get enough strength I have to put the machine on the floor and put 100% of my strength into it. It’s probably ok if you’re a young fit male. The water isn’t really hot enough for tea but saying that it does make a decent cup. I’m not sure the filter lasts a year, especially if you are a family. I changed mine after about eight months and I live on my own. The infusions can work out expensive but since using the machine I hardly ever have cramp issues. It’s nice to get rid of my kettle. Filling the machine is a bit of a nuisance every day and because I’m in a very hard water area I waste an awful lot of water down the sink (I don’t have a garden). I paid extra for a tube to take the extra water straight into the sink (very overpriced). The downside of this is that the water removed from the machine is so bad that it stains the sink! Thanks Thames Water. When I’ve had problems Skuma have done their best to help me, I just don’t want the problems. I’m wondering if a new machine will be coming onto the market with some of these things ironed out. So, although these are a lot of negatives I do like my machine and wouldn’t be without it. It just needs improvements.

So I’ve had two skumas now

So I’ve had two skumas now, my first one was an older design apparently and when I came to descale it, it got blocked. Initially the response I had was below what I’d expect, however the CEO e-mailed me a personal apology and the unit was quickly replaced. All has been absolutely fine since. As others have said, you really do taste the difference in the water. I just use the hydration minerals, to add back the good stuff to the water. It really is a lovely unit, and doesn’t take up much space (I only have a small kitchen). I would definitely recommend a Skuma unit to anyone looking to improve their water quality. The mineral pouches are on a subscription, so you save a little money and they arrive in good time.

Couldn’t live without my Skuma!

I have been using Skuma for a while now and can honestly say I couldn’t live with out it! It makes such a huge difference to the quality and taste of our water. You can really notice the difference when you run the normal tap! Also the infusion packs are something that really set Skuma out from its competitors! 100% recommend!

Life changing

I’ve been using the Sküma Water System for a few months now, and I couldn’t be more impressed! My machine has never worked properly…

My machine has never worked properly since day one after putting up with the noise for 3 + months I contacted them via email the only way of making contact ! At first they said cause I was in a hard water area I would need to descale which meant buying a kit £22 when I explained that I had only used the system probably 30 times they were not interested I then sent a video showing the noise and they said that was normal ! Sometimes it went on for 10 minutes and was driving me mad what they did not know was my son had the same machine and his did not make a noise I asked for a full refund but was told it was out of the 30 day return so could not have a refund then when I explained that it was not removing the waste on filling they said the value must be stuck they replaced with a new valve but the noise was still there after complaining again they gave me a contact to speak to on WhatsApp after complaint and another video sent of noise they agreed to replace the machine when the new one arrived it had clearly been used the box was all ripped and cellotaped back up and the box was showing water damage when opened every inside was soaking wet there where things missing and no cover over plug and you could see it had been taken out the box and not repacked properly on complaint I was told it was tested before being sent and the water was normal what a joke I agin have asked for my money back and again they have refused have sent both machines back waiting for a phone call from ceo CEO telephoned as promised and offered another new machine or a refund . I decided on the refund however we have family who has this machine and is very pleased with it.

Great tasting fresh water

We bought a Skuma to replace our aging filter jugs. Water tastes great and is a vast improvement on unfiltered tab water. We also use the hot water feature to make herbal teas, but for regular tea we still need a kettle to get water close to boiling point.
