Sakura Mobile is very easy to set up via eSIM which is what I went for. We travelled a fair amount in Japan and I had good coverage everywhere we went. The price was fair (equivalent to about £25 per week for unlimited use). I wasn’t sure how to set up the eSIM at first so I emailed Sakura Mobile help center. They replied within an hour and walked me through the IOS recommended settings. 10/10. Will use again and would highly recommend.
Purchase and Installation, as well as usage in Japan went without problems.
All the processes was easy eve that i had an issue with the data not working because I did something wrong in the process, i contacted them through email and they were super fast and helpful and helped me to fix the issue, thanks for the amazing team and i highly recommend it

I'd like to share my exceptional experience with Sakura Mobile during my recent trip to Japan. Their customer service was extremely impressive, so much so that I am taking the time to write this rare review. Before my trip, I began looking for alternatives to the usual hotspot rental I get while overseas. I came across Sakura Mobile, as well as a competing service, from searches and Reddit posts. Since I was looking for semi-long term data and voice & data e-SIMs, I had several questions about their eSIM plans. Their customer service team was responsive and knowledgeable and responded promptly, clearly explaining their plans and what would best work for what I had in mind. Upon arriving in Japan and activating my eSIMs, I had an issue with properly activating the data eSIM because I was using the voice & data eSIM settings. They were quick to assist me in finding the correct APN settings via email (from the hotel Wi-Fi). Once properly configured, both the call quality and internet speeds were consistently excellent. What particularly stood out was Sakura Mobile's ongoing support. I had an issue where I had actually gotten the wrong data plan that they had directed me to before my trip, and as a result, I went over my data limit. After I explained the issue, they went above and beyond my expectations in making things right. For those planning a trip to Japan and seeking reasonably priced, reliable connectivity, I highly recommend Sakura Mobile. Their outstanding customer service, combined with the convenience of their eSIM products, ensures a stress-free experience during your trip.
Sakura is a must for any foreigners! I'm a new ALT in Japan, with minimal Japanese so I needed to have a company that offered reliable coverage and good English support. I signed up with Sakura at my orientation in Tokyo which was such a breeze. The staff there effectively held my hand and walked me through the entire process of getting my eSIM and Mobile WiFi set up. They were and continue to be a godsend. However upon arriving at my place of work, I realized that the office ethernet was too slow and limiting, so I was relying on my pocket WiFi for my home and personal life. The 200G was enough, but to not have to worry about limiting myself, I signed up for their fibre package. Once again, the support was immaculate. They replied to all of my queries (even ones related to general living in Japan things) and within a week of requesting the Fibre, I had my device shipped to me and set up. So trust me, if you're looking for great connection, great speeds, and fantastic coverage, then Sakura is your best bet!
The customer service is great. The staff is dedicated in helping you set up every aspect of the mobile and internet plans. They even took the time to follow up with and check in to make sure there were no problems during and after the set up process.
We used Sakura mobile for both short term e-sim and Japan home internet and both experience was great and beyond expectations. The first time we used Sakura mobile was on a family vacation to Japan. The ordering process was simple, the instructions were easy to follow and the service was great throughout Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima). We also purchased Sakura mobile's home 5G internet for our vacation home in Japan. Sakura mobile was very easy to order online and the unit arrived quickly. Setup was simple and instructions were easy to follow. We chose Sakura mobile for home internet as they took online credit card payment for monthly fees and they did not require residency.
The website is super easy to navigate, tech support is great, and while I had some hurdles in getting my data to work at first, everything has been flawless ever since. Occasionally my connection will be spotty, but for the most part I can accomplish everything I need to do under my plan. Oh, and the Japanese phone number has been an absolute lifesaver. Sure, things like LINE can’t be fully accessed since age verification doesn’t work the way Sakura Mobile is set up, but apart from that, I’ve never had to think about my data usage, which is proof enough that the system works well. Plans are also super cheap. In essence—Sakura Mobile has my highest recommendation.
Sakura mobile is great! I use their picket WiFi religiously. My only issue is getting 2.4G instead of 5G. Few times I get a loading symbol while streaming longer m movies. Most times its perfect. Will recommend
Esim card works good after customer service helped with the configuration settings. Access Point Names needs to be filled out. Downloading the QR code is not enough to obtain the service. Once we finally got the service worked out after many pictures of settings with customer service, rhe plan works great. Highly recommend unlimited data for Google maps when travelling.
