For the most part, dealing with and holidaying with Riviera is excellent - which is why this our second holiday with Riviera this year. However, there are a few concerns that need rectifying - firstly, transparency, we now find the flight to Ankara is indirect, via Istanbul, not direct as suggested in the itinerary. Secondly, the process of checking in for flights - this should be left to the individual, to avoid the chaos of couples being sat apart ( and usually at the very back of the plane ). The tour leader for our last holiday spent an inordinate amount of time rearranging the seat plan. Riviera must overcome this, so as to allow couples to sit together and in the location preferred ( ie aisle or window etc )

The fifth star is missing only because your website gave up midway through the booking. Your telephone agents (I dealt with two) took up the process and were both first-rate. The conversation was relaxed but covered everything that was needed.

After booking my holiday, I immediately booked my airport hotel and trains to and from the airport. Riviera then casually informed me that my trip had been cancelled. They offered me a new holiday, which was flying from a different airport. I am now out of pocket as I am left with a non- refundable hotel booking and train tickets. I was shocked that they didn’t offer me any voucher or discount for inconveniencing me. I am unable to claim on my insurance. They said as Riviera has cancelled, they should offer compensation for the inconvenience. I will not be using Riviera again as I don’t wish to support a company with poor customer service.

Laurie, the Riviera agent, was superb- very pleasant, very efficient and with clarity in everything he said. Follow up emails also excellent and clear.

Booking was easy and straightforward, the Riviera advisor was friendly, very efficient and ensured all queries were answered. Emails were forwarded promptly, a very pleasurable experience.

Daniel was extremely helpful during the phone call and was able to do my booking for a Danube River Cruise in August - explaining all terms and conditions etc and taking all my details. I rang on Monday morning and by Wednesday teatime all the information had been uploaded to my Riviera account for me to view.

We have completed our booking by telephone and Sharon made the process easy. Very helpful and completed without stress. Impressed by the process.

We have just returned from the Classical Spain Signature Tour and enjoyed it very much. We booked the tour as we wanted a break where everything was taken care of for us and this trip certainly fulfilled that requirement. The tour guides were professional, knowledgeable and helpful and they definitely contributed to making the trip a success for us. Would be happy to book with Riviera Travel again.

A big thank you to Laurie Mathieson (Sales Executive for Riviera Travel) for making our last minute booking for a river cruise so easy. He was understanding and helpful particularly when trying to get us the flight and airport that we wanted for our journey out and return. We are now looking forward to our cruise on the River Rhone in August without needing to worry about the finer details.

I have been on now 6 holidays with Riviera Travel and I find them to be very good. They are trustworthy, responsive and have excellent customer service. I would highly recommend them for both European city breaks to cruises which they do very well. I have one booked in 2026 now, as they book up so fast due to the fact they are a very popular company!

We have just returned from an amazing holiday with Riviera, we stayed at the Regina Palace hotel in Stresa on Lake Maggiore in Italy . The hotel was wonderful with comfortable rooms, pleasant staff and lovely food.the itinerary was extremely varied and we did some lovely trips on trains,boats and coaches. Out tour guide Nikki self was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for her, we would certainly travel with Riviera again.

It was straightforward. It confirmed everything by email very quickly. It noted flights, airport, times of departure and arrival. Hotel, how much deposit and how much the final invoice will be and the date it needs to be paid. Also requested passport and travel insurance details. So all done and nothingk more to think about until I want to pack!
