Impossible to get hold of someone that knows what they're talking about

UK call center yes, but every call reaches 'reception' who have no visibility to your account, nor any technical or customer services capability. They promise to call back, never do. They promise to reply to emails, takes days. Router came misconfigured and locked so even when I connected to it via ethernet I was unable to manually setup the PPPoE settings. Waste of time, avoid. EDIT: I have shared my details with you, feel free to call and I'd gladly give my direct feedback as I've been trying to do for the last few days.

Connection mostly good and staff helpful

Line did go down for a few days and they did everything they could to help asap, Kevin was very helpful and we got credit back for the next month due to the inconvenience.

H
Patient and effective

Rebel persevered through a long, arduous process getting Openreach to install FTTP. Openreach would not allow me to initiate contact to arrange an appointment which is mind-numbingly short-sighted and unhelpful being a teacher that cannot take calls during the day. I can't imagine the mess I would be in with the undeserving, greedy broadband companies like Virgin Media, EE, Vodafone, BT, and their labyrinthian, unfair contract terms and predatory 'customer service'.

D
Superior Customer service

Great product with no issues . The only broadband service that offers a monthly rolling contract. Call answers quickly, unlike the big boys . Excellent Customer service . I highly recommend them

Excellent product + support

Excellent product and excellent after sales support when needed. I’m pleased I made the change from my BT Home Hub with its deteriorating performance and higher cost.

Terrible connectivity

To be quite honest, I experienced connection issues with Rebel from day one. Even sitting in the same room as the router, some web pages and apps wouldn't load on a WiFi connection but would be absolutely fine when I switched to a mobile connection. I have been really unimpressed with the broadband from Rebel which is why I have switched back to BT.

This is a clone of another egg-based…

This is a clone of another egg-based startup who promised the same. Rebel don't run their own network, nor even have their own IP space. They are simply a reseller. Having placed an order, this was clear by who the gaining provider was. Why is this not made clear on your website? I do wonder how long it'll be before they increase prices. Openreach have been clear there will be a CPI increase each and every year going forward now since the charge controls set by Ofcom were removed but yet Rebel (a reseller without a direct OR relationship), can promise not to increase pricing, even made comment they've removed this clause from their terms no loss). Something will have to give, so either the promise is a lie, or they're just building customers to flog to the biggest buyer. Essentially, website is all marketing spin. Even their signup journey mentions signing up for better wifi, even when you don't select the hardware. Great Q+A!. Edit: you've updated your review but fail to address the points. Openreach run the infrastructure. As you don't have your own network, who are you using to provide transit across the Openreach network? (hint: OR do not provide IP access and you'd have to use someone like BT Wholesale, Talk Talk Business or Vodafone, or maybe even a further step down to an aggregator - so please be TRANSPARENT!) This would mean you're either not a direct customer of Openreach, thereby being no "partnership" or you have your own equipment and IP ranges (which appears you do not). Do send me an IP and/or AS number that you have so I can verify however. Let's correct you though. 999 is responsibility of BT, not Openreach. What you've said is your magic is your hardware, so if you don't opt for that hardware, the connection would be no different yet much more expensive. In regard, Openreach have been clear on yearly CPI increases as now allowed by Ofcom. How are you not going to increase pricing when Openreach will and that will affect every CP who rely upon them - it's clear you'll have to. So maybe you don't have "plans" but Openreach certainly do and will has made very clear this year.

Great philosophy, good onboarding, reasonable service.

• I loved their philosophy, which resonated with my cynical opinion of large telecom companies. • The pricing seems comparetive with the pricier end of the market, but I appreciated their honesty, and I am whiling to pay the same amount (as EE) for more for a brand that is transparent with pricing that is stable and predictable. • Sign-up was easy, as Rebel could close my account with EE. • When setting up on the day of switch over I discovered my master socket did not fit the supplied cabled, which would of put me off line if not for the previous adapter I had from EE. I felt the question of what socket I had should of come up during sign-up to avoid this. They did send me an adaptor the next day, but EE still had to bail us out of this one. • This is the first time I've had an additional booster (upstairs), and it's worked excellent. It kinda set itself up almost, so it was ultra easy to install. • I've had more dropouts than with EE, with my TV or PS4 telling me I'm offline occasionally. This is disappointing but not a huge issue. • The app is fine, novel at first, but quite a lot of info I've no idea what to do with. In summary, it's fine. I like the brand, and that I'm not locked into a contract, but when Trooli comes my way, I will check them out. I think Rebel is probably a good thing for consumers and with enough customers, could affect some positive industry change. So, for now, I'm happy enough and not looking to switch (but am open to suggestions).

Reliable, better quality and less expensive

I've been with Rebel since May, I'll update the review if anything changes but so far my impression is positive: whenever I've written to their customer service I've received polite, timely and useful answers. The wi-fi in my house is better than it was with Virgin (despite them foisting on me a higher speed package that we didn't need but nothing lower-speed was available so we were paying more but our area didn't have anything else available) and it reaches further in the house and the garden even though I didn't even get the pods for the router. It's nice that I'm not locked in in a long-term contract as well and now we spend half the money we did with Virgin for better service. Even though Virgin did offer us the same price when we told them we were closing our account we didn't see the point: we've been loyal customers for years and all we've got for that is seeing our bill go up and up and the service got worse and worse - if the price was possible before it means that they could have done it all this while but only bothered to halve it when we finally could use a different company.

Love this company / rebel all the way !

Have had contracts with the main contenders & finally have an excellent connection that provides great speeds & constant Wi-Fi with no line drop/ disconnect! Their support is also excellent! Responses are really fast, answer the question straight & really personal. Before I kept trying different mainstream companies, absolutely not going back, they’re all the same! Especially love the ‘no tied to contract’ aspect! Totally recommend Rebel ! ++++++
