I don’t know why there is no option for zero star . Worst service ever, after moving to other provider rebel still taking money. They took more than 6 month to set up my online account but i am still not able to login that account. If you try to contact them automated line says contact British gas , if you call British gas they says we don’t have access. What should i do because i paid more then £900 for 4 month and we are only 3 living
have been billed for the same period by both Rebel Energy and British Gas, and it has left me with a £246 bill from Rebel and British Gas now demanding £175 for that same timeframe. I paid Rebel Energy on 22 April and 19 May 2025, both times £123 — yet British Gas claims they were supplying my electricity starting 5 April.
I've called and emailed numerous times to try and get clarity on billing periods, to cross-check what I actually owe — but still no clear response. On top of that, I can’t even log into my Rebel Energy account anymore to verify anything for myself.
The lack of communication between Rebel Energy and British Gas is appalling. It is completely unacceptable how customers have been left in the dark and expected to chase down answers themselves, while being charged hundreds of pounds without proper explanation.
All I’ve asked for is a clear breakdown of the billing periods and for Rebel to communicate directly with British Gas to confirm the payments I’ve already made.
Do not bother replying with the usual “If you'd like to resolve this, please contact us” — I ALREADY HAVE. Repeatedly. Still no help.
Sort this out. This is NOT how you treat customers.
I had a complaint about a potential increase in my monthly bill and I had to speak with a customer support team. I spoke with Owethu and she was able to resolve the issue over the phone. A great customer worker.
I transferred over to rebel energy, and ok for a few months they changed my direct debit amount no problem, next I get an email saying I've not paided and they will refer me to a debt collection agency, I paid by credit card but also asked why they were sending me emails about direct debits, which said I didn't need to do anything they would take the new amount, they were very sorry and admitted they had made a mistake, apologised and set up the direct debit all good you would think? NO yesterday I got an email that they were referring me to the debt collection agency, for the amount that I had paid a few days by card! Absolutely useless!
I've had a very frustrating experience with this company. Overall, they just seem very incompetant when it comes to handling payments and direct debits.
I tried 3 times to set up a direct debit with them - once via email, once via an online portal and once over the phone. Each time they seemed to have problems either setting up the direct debit, or the direct debit would only sometimes take payment.
Throughout all this, I was continually recieving emails from them telling me that my account was increasingly going into debt. This was despite the fact that I was continually trying to set up a way to pay them.
Eventually, I rang them again to ask about the direct debit, to which one of their customer service team said that the direct debits were not currently working and they did not know why. He said that as an alternative, he would send me an email link to set up a regular payment system via BACS.
Not only did I not recieve this email to allow me to set up a payment method (this was after 6 months of trying to set up a payment with Rebel) - the next day I recieved an email from Rebel informing me that because I had not been paying, they were transferring my account to a debt collection agency! This was when I was still within the terms of my contract as well. I had been in contact with them multiple times to try and set up a payment - all the payment problems were on their end. And after all that they tried to scare me into paying by threatening to put me into debt collection.
Overall, would not recommend. This agency has been more trouble than is worth.
Whatever you do, don't switch or sign-up with this firm. They are the worst firm I've ever known. No customer service, unprofessional, no ownership or accountability, and they clearly have things to hide as they prevent customers having access to their online account.
I have been trying since the 7th of Feb to get my gas and electric accounts joined. As for some reason two separate accounts were created for the same property. On the multiple attempts to sort this I’m told each time it’s been passed to the relevant person only to hear absolutely nothing …every…single…time.
Strange that the seperate bills are finding me in good time though.

Although I paid their requested amount of bill last week, I just received the email saying "As a result of you not making a payment or attempting to contact us to discuss your account, we will now be transferring your account to our Debt Collections Agency, COEO". I do not understand what they are doing. I have paid and sent the message with a photo of my account of Rebel Energy website. I do not understand why they sent the above message before they had checked my account of their website??? I have sent TWO EMAILS to them but they have not replied yet and just sent the above email.
