Review summary
Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
Post Office Card Account. J.P. MORGAN
Have kept my late Mother's money hidden in one of their accounts for almost 7 years.
I have contract their customer service office based in, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
To ask them why they have held on to a deceased person's money , without informing the family for so long, but they will not answer simple questions and if you push them for answers, they end your call.
I have asked to speak to the, Head of Card Accounts Customer Service, but have been told he does not speak to customers with complaints or answer emails.
THIS IS A DEADFUL COMPANY TO COMMUNICATE WITH. BUT I WILL NOT GO AWAY...
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY...!
I’ve paid for track and trace delivery to my home address waited in for knock or intercom only to be informed lazy post man left package at reception !!! Could not be bothered to enter building ring intercom why oh why do you advertise a service you cannot deliver on !! When I go to collect he has shoved a valuable item in big Amazon box !!! Still not received goods terrible service ! Looks like you be paying for lost goods when I checked with reception with a so called signature from post man she said I’ve not signed anything from postman makes me wonder if they know what’s inside
I took a small parcel today to Wisbech post office on the High Street for posting. . The parcel was secured by my partner and I felt that one of the sellotaped edges was a bit unreliable so asked the cashier whether s strip of fresh sellotape could kindly be applied over the top. The assistant said … quote “we haven’t got no sellotape” (which for grammatically accurate people means ‘we have got sellotape” but “we can sell you some”. I was then offered a pathetic little roll of very narrow low quality sellotape which I felt obliged to pay for. It was very clearly not fit for purpose. My point is - don’t lie and if you are instructed not to assist customers at least offered for sale a reliable and useful product. Poor grammar and very poor customer service! When I struggled to open the product I asked for assistance ‘free of charge” and received eye rolling from the two assistants on duty.
I have been waiting since Sunday for a parcel containing medication, they have attempted three times, and all three times I am in, I live in a flat but we have call bells at the door, they have not attempted to call, or leave a card so I can redirect, I spoke to their customer services whi fobbed me off with "there was a fire and they couldn't deliver" funny how they delivered another parcel at the same day, I am very reluctant to now order anything delivered by royal mail, appalling service
What’s the bloody point of the post office? Second class seems to mean that it will never get delivered. Posted a card on Tuesday for Mothering Sunday. It didn’t arrive in time. Appalling service
Royal Mail collections- the only service which treats your actual booking with them as optional. And decides not to bother.
I booked a collection with Royal Mail.
It's a pretty important parcel. I was unwell, I have a disability that knocks me for 6 at times, so I didn't feel up to going round to the PO. I had other options for collection but in my wisdom decided to trust the PO as we have some nice posties (one or 2 are less nice).
So I booked a collection. But, they never came. And of course, its the weekend and there is nobody to answer my query. I do not believe there is any come uppance when companies do this kind of thing- they can just say we were out or didn't reply and its our word against theirs.
Four people were home the entire day. Three doorbells working! We have a doorcam- nobody came. And yet, the PO say if they can't gain access they will contact the sender. Nothing from them at all (until well into the evening).
Now my important parcel is late, when I could have opted for numerous other services operating in my area. And of course, next time I will.
I submitted a request for a refund. They say refunds will only be paid if the postperson doesn't claim they were unable to gain access.
As the PO also say they will only pay refunds after 21 days, I got it refunded through Paypal.
At 7pm - about 8 hours after scheduled collection, I had an email saying
"Hi XXXXXXX
We’re sorry but we were unable to fulfil your collection request, order number XXXXXXX for the following item(s):XXXXXXX
If still required, please book another collection. We're sorry for any inconvenience".
At least they did not say it was my fault.
But, name me another service which, when you book with them, they consider it optional whether to fulfil or not.
'If still required' Ah no, its ok, I flew to the destination with the parcel in my mouth, all sorted. No problem.
Its a real shame. There are lovely, dependable people working there, and I don't like to tar them all with the same brush. But this was really not ok. I needed the parcel to be sent, or someone to let me know if they could not come. Its not a lot to ask that the service works as they say it will.
Posted my mums mothers day card on thursday 20th going to Belfast.
It's Saturday 29th and my mum didn't get it.
You pay a small fortune for first class and they can't deliver on time. Is a first class stamp not meant to be fast?
They would get no stars if I could.
Post office in it's wisdom closed a quite large office in our town Consett abkut 4 years ago. The one they closed used to have 4 counter staff. For weeks now there is onky one member if staff on the counter with continuous large queues. The staff member is not to blame it is the overall staffing issue. The staff member was eating his lunch at the counter today as he has no back up. They then have the audacity to raise stamp prices. A monopoly that needs breaking up!
Avoid saving with the Post Office! I had an "easy" access savings account with them and was unable to access my money on multiple occasions. They do not have an app and the online banking system consistently returned error messages directing me to call them. The system never recognised my security code and in order to reset it I had to call them and wait for a new code to be sent in the post which took days. In 2025, you'd expect to be able to manage issues like this online and in a timely manner. It's really not ideal if you need to check your balance or transfer money. I've now closed my account, and after calling to request a closing statement (which isn't provided as standard) I was told that they couldn't do this as the system is down - not surprising at all!
We went to our local post office in poulton le Fylde centre to renew our passports and the lady who we dealt with was very friendly and helpful she helped us every step of the way with all the questions and we would recommend her to anyone her name was Rachel D. It is undecided wether our branch is going to be closed down in the near future it would be devastating for the area and it's always very busy I hope it is kept open it's very important to the village.
