Postoffice has room for improvement based on customer feedback. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
Parcel returned from Royal mail. Post office staff did not know why although they had completed the CN22 and I signed it. The parcel came back after 7 weeks with a CN15(b) form on the returned parcel. After 15 minutes, they sent me off with a contact number that could not help. Poor service. Visit an alternative post office if you want your post to be delivered.
My local Postman is great BUT when it comes to parcels they do not come any where near the time that they are due such as 9:30 11:45. It it ALWAYS well into the afternoon.
This makes it impossible to plan. I have commitments which I am willing to work around but NOT the WHOLE DAY.
If you say you will deliver between these time THEN YOU SHOULD.
On top of that it's the same guy - who's not too friendly - it's like you have disturbed him by having a parcel delivered.
Possibly the worst delivery company in the UK.
The regular guys are great who deliver your letters, however, when you have a parcel being delivered not letters, it never arrives on time, the time slots are too long as well, and when they stick a note via your door they don't tell you what neighbour they left it with and the item reference on the last two were incorrect. I have heard they use agencies workers to deliver parcels. They clearly need more training. Lastly trying to get hold of anyone to speak to is like trying to speak to Pope.
OMG the Post Office in Northen Ireland is still in the stone age. Went tp tax my car only to be told they can't accept my insurance details on my phone they need a print out. Staff were apologetic but really this is terrible these days.
It is no wonder the days of the Post Office are numbered, and I can hear that we will all be disappointed when it's gone and regret the day, but nobody want's to be ripped off these days as not many people can afford it.
However after paying over £13.00 to think my daughters birthday card would be delivered on time by paying for Saturday delivery, I was so annoyed to hear it arrived 2 days late.
I posted it in Kendal on Thursday morning for delivery to London on the Saturday, my daughters birthday was the Sunday, it arrived on Monday (today)!
People have told me that years ago it would have arrived on time with a first class stamp on it.
I understand that technology has put strain on lots of businesses, but don't take the £13.00 off me if you can't guarantee delivery like I was told.
My receipt states:
"Next day guaranteed delivery service" Tracking and signature at Royal Mail .com
Have just closed the 2nd PO savings account. Absolutely dire experience, everything about the experience has been terrible. There is no ease of use, it’s actually shocking how bad it is. Go to Zopa, so easy to use.
Went to post a parcel but the PO person within the co-op store was on lunch.....on an "uninterruptible" lunch break! In a quiet store on a Sunday! Shameful but I now know what the C in customer service means there now.
Absolutely ridiculous - post office is just going down the toilet. I thought Evri was bad but I can see the PO becoming extinct soon.
Went into my local Post Office this morning to send five international postcards & letters before Monday's price rise.... but no joy. Employee says "We don't have any £2.80 stamps out because prices increase to £3.20 on Monday.... and the safe is locked".
Now I'm thinking 'Ok but it's Saturday & I'd like to post my mail please'. Maybe my expectations of customer service are miles off the mark these days but I stood there waiting for a "But if you don't mind waiting a minute or two then my colleague will open the safe & get you some" or perhaps "I can sell you some other stamps that will make up the £2.80".
Nope, nothing! I then asked about stamps to make up the value & was told they don't have them!! Seriously, what kind of Mickey Mouse post office doesn't carry some International Standard stamps?
From Monday it will be £3.20 to send A POSTCARD OR LETTER internationally! On my regular travels I know of no other country where sending mail is so expensive. I think I'm done with using the Post Office & the UK postal system (RM are even worse) & will instead send my mail when I'm abroad. I did this in February when I sent 63 mail items from Spain. Prices averaged 64% of UK prices, my items arrived faster than sending from the UK, and best of all I didn't have to contend with the UK PO's 'passive unhelpful' staff.
ATHERTON ROAD POST OFFICE HINDLEY Every time I go in to use the post office in the evenings (I work 5 to 6 days a week) I get told "post office is closed" even though it clearly states open till 22.00 on every web site you go on. I wouldn't care if it was a separate counter but it's literally the same counter top. Seems to me just C.B.A.
I wanted to post a small parcel at 4:35pm and was told to *go away and come back another day* because the guy working there was "on his own" - strange, because I'm unsure who the other person he was talking with. It didn't matter that the official closing time was 5:30pm, and there was no queue. All I needed was a quick scan of a barcode and a sticker. Unbelievable :(

So clicking one star is ridiculous, this service is done and completely unreliable. I sent a Mother’s Day card 2weeks ago and it still hasn’t turned up. So £5 on a card and £1.70 on stamps for what, first class apparently thank god tthe post office don’t do holidays or fly planes for that matter. RUBBISH 1 star too many!
Sent first class card for Mother’s Day 5 days before Mother’s Day, only to receive 4 days after Mother’s Day, took them 9 days to deliver first class stamp card .
