Review summary
P&O Cruises is exceptionally well-rated by customers. Customers particularly appreciate service and quality, though some mention concerns about customer service and expensive.
It was just a lovely cruise. There was everything we wanted and being very much older, plenty of time to relax if needed. The staff are amazing, respectful and welcoming. The Baltic cities are wonderful sights and the talks by Dave Wright were inspirational and riveting. We went to every one. Loved every minute
What a beautiful ship, staff, food, drink, rooms the whole experience was memorable, my first cruise and a fantastic experience with great and beautiful locations visited in Norway.
Have recently returned from PO Britannia 10 anniversary cruise of the British Isles which we had been really looking forward to as it was visiting places we haven't been to before, although disappointed they cancelled our trip to Edinburgh. The cruise got off to a bad start for us it took nearly two hours from dropping our luggage off to actually get on to the ship (usually takes 20-30 mins) so was not happy it was exhausting and would have put of off if it was our first cruise. Luckily it all improved from then on and we had a fantastic and relaxing cruise. Food excellent and staff very friendly in particular Akrita and Stanley from the Meridan restaurant and Jenson our cabin steward. Britannia certainly pulled the stops out with the entertainment this cruise it was spectacular on deck and in theatre, you had to queue early to get a seat in theatre even though they did 3 shows a night it was full half an hour before show started. We did three shore excursions with PO and all where very good with knowledgeable guides on the coaches and the shuttle bus in other places was well organised. Sort the boarding out and back too 5 stars next time.
JUST BACK FROM 2 WEEKS ON ARVIA FANTASTIC
2 WEEKS EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC FOOD ENTERTAINMENT AND ALL THE CREW WE HAD SUCH A LOVELY TIME WISH WE WERE BACK ON SHIP A BIG
THANK YOU TO P&O FOR A FANTASTIC TIME ON ARVIA
We sail with PO often. It offers cruises at reasonable
prices giving Value for money.
Good choices of places to visit.
Outstanding food in a good choice of restaurants.
All of PO ships have something for everyone.
Smooth boarding at Southampton for Arvia, Great staff, lovely food, only two mains and one starter not up to par, which would have been replaced without question had we chosen to do so, as noted by other guests, people still reserving Sunbeds.
Entertainment is mostly good,
The only complaint is the collection of duty-free drinks; some people queued for 45 minutes to collect them. The cabin was clean, as was the ship in general.
Boarding and disembarkation were very good and moved thousands of people quickly.
Arvia 22nd June to 6th July 2025
Overall, I would rate 9 out of 10. And would cruise again with P & O from Southampton.
Absolutely fantastic week on board Iona to Norway for our family of 4. All members of staff were helpful and kind. The entertainment team providing shows were fantastic & we would happily see the same shows again. Food outstanding. Facilities on the ship were great and our children loved the Youth Club. We are already looking forward to our next cruise with P&O
Just back from our fifth P&O cruise, third on Arvia. Only finances could stop us booking again. It's not the value for money that is an issue. Apart from rising prices, HMG, HMRC and the cost of travel insurance conspire to make things difficult for us in our mid-seventies. If it is possible to make sacrifices in other areas we will book again in a flash.
Superb food, great service and the space/options on Arvia are remarkable. Do as much or as little as you desire. Indulge in speciality dining and fine wines or use the included eateries and free entertainment; do it YOUR way.
P&O + Arvia have exceeded our expectations again.
For what it is worth, our true advice would be to try a P&O cruise, ours was the same price as a fortnight's B&B at our favoured hotel in the West Country!
Disembarking from Britannia at Kiel was a total disaster. We both had to stand in the heat for one hour with huge crowds before we could board our transit coach. We were told that all 19 couches were stuck in traffic?????????? If traffics bad here why weren't they dispatched earlier?
Relaxing holiday. Filled with live entertainment and lots to do, all day. The evenings with Harrison Treble were outstanding.
Food was exceptional especially for Coeliacs and we had 4 in our party! The staff were all friendly and helpful. Especially our waiters, Mark Lee and Stephen Pereira.
The behind the scene tour gave an amazing in-site to how hard everyone works. The captain was friendly and informative.
All in all a wonderful family time had by all 12 of us and i would highly recommend!
