Really simple to rent a car. We had made a mistake on our booking, andwere able to cancel and rebook painlessly. Got a response within minutes. No issues at Europcar desk when we got to the airport. Our booking was retrieved with no issues. Would book again with Orbit Car Hire.

I got a great deal with Orbit Car hire who arranged the rental through ways2madeira car hire. The booking was straight forward, and I got all the documents. On arrival at Funchel airport, we rang ways2madeira car hire and they collected us within 10 minutes, the staff were extremely helpful, and offered us additional insurance which we declined, we were not pressurised to buy it in any way. The car was fine, a Citroën C3, albeit a bit under powered for the really steep roads we encountered throughout Madeira. Then we had a puncture about 30km from Funchal, we encountered a rockfall on a minor road, the car didn't come equipped with a spare wheel (quite common these days), so we called ways2madeira car hire, who were helpful and polite, and quoted me 650 Euros to come out and replace the wheel and tyre, I had no option but to accept the price, they arrived about 1.5 hours after the incident, replaced the wheel, and I paid the amended price of 645 Euros. The Service I received was first class, but I thought the price for replacing the wheel and tyre was excessive, fortunately I had taken Hire Car Excess in the UK before our holiday at £42 for a whole year, so hopefully I will get 100% reimbursement for the claim. When returning the car at the end of the rental, I didn't encounter any problems, and again the staff were very polite, and took us to the airport terminal. I strongly reccomend taking Excess Insurance in the UK before you travel.

They did not clearly state that you could buy the full no excess insurance from Europcar when you picked the car up. Their insurance was a claim back after an incident and you may or may not be successful in the claim. We purchased the full insurance from europcar but Orbit would not refund the insurance I paid them. We also waited 2 hours in a queue to pick the car up.
