Review summary
Newton Property Management receives consistently positive reviews. Customers particularly appreciate service and professional, though some mention concerns about communication and customer service.
I contacted Robert Gilfillan regarding an issue I was experiencing whilst paying for my quarterly statement.
Robert was very understanding and accommodating, he was responsive and assuring. Couldn’t be happier with the finance dept of this organisation.
Thank you Robert.
This is a genuine review from a genuinely impressed customer of Newton Property Management.
Robert Gilfilan spotted something irregular on my account and sorted the issue, effectively. For that and for restoring my faith in humankind, I am grateful!
Newton tried to charge me over £3k for not doing any work to the roof, a big chunk was for scaffolding abandoned for nearly a year.
They put the bill up to over £4k, then within a short amount of time they doubled the bill to over £8k.
A crooked bunch of fraudsters.
I am seeking advice from Citizens Advice now to see about the complaints process.
Overcharging and ineffective, with exploitative business model.
Rare for Newton to actually respond to an issue, nothing is resolved at a first telling. Multiple contractor visits get billed with no resolution.
The factor ignores owners, there’s no supervision of contractors and certainly no verification of contractors work or invoices.
There’s a well established pattern….owners receive invoice for work that is not recognised or for work that wasn’t completed, challenge email ignored, no follow up or response to challenges to rework invoices or double dipping fees.
Rather than doing the job and ensuring Client value, they then chase for payment of their overcharging “preferred” suppliers claim without review.
It’s just fee generating nonsense, the cosy relationship with their “preferred” suppliers is to the utter detriment of owners.
Doubt this is limited to Aberdeen as interaction with their weak leadership resulted in yet more BS.
The invoices keep on coming. The only thing for Newton is maximising profit.
Absolutely useless, an abysmal waste of money.
In charge of our building is Lana Andrejevs who has
taken on quite a complex situation which has been
ongoing for some time, before Newton being involved, and has done it with an excellent outcome. she always
responds to emails and keeps us informed.
Mr. Brandon Cochrane (Property Management Support)
really delivers answers and give solutions.
Polite, fast, clever and highly professional.
Fantastic customer service and excellent advice.
Many "Thanks"!
They hike the price every year yet seem to do less and less maintenance/repairs. There is no clear evidence of what you pay towards. A gardener comes to mow a 1 metre square patch of grass that’s about it. The cleaners in the communal bit run round with a hoover but I’m sure that doesn’t cost. £130 a month
Newton are scammers. They don't get as many quotes are required by their written statement of services for jobs. Not suprising because they add 10% on as their fee so it seems like they wouldnt benefit from getting 3 quotes.
Everything is massively overcharged... for example my most recent bill has £384 for playpark inspections. Typical newton. Think a lightbulb costs £3? You'll end up paying £100 in petrol for someone to come with one, then £50 for him to fit it.
Main reason I am moving house is because of them. They are scammers and need investigated.
Newton took over the factoring of the block of flats in which I own a property relatively recently. The communal hall way had a mould issue and windows and doors were in a state of disrepair adding to the issue. This was identified to them and Lana Andrejevs appointed as our property manager, she has managed the situation timeously and effectively, communicating clearly with all property owners and arranged for appropriate works to be carried out. Her help and management with the matter is appreciated.
There has been a simple admin error on newton's part and they have erroneously charged us VAT twice on a large cost item related to our property. This has led to an overcharging of £2640 for the whole block of flats. It is not something new and Newtons routinely makes errors and corrects them when pointed out. John Mann has taken a simple matter of an admin error and compounded it into a nightmare for me. I have email proof admitting they have charged extra and yet his replies are robotic, repetitive and insensitive.
