Dining experience good No live music to dance to in the evening
Tried not to compare but royal Caribbean where so much better
Yacht club is just amazing from the food to the drinks and the staff
Just returned home from a cruise on the MSC Virtuosa from the 12-26 July. Regret to say it was a very disappointing experience and the worse cruise we have been on. The cabin was small with very narrow beds. We are not big people but my partner felt he was going to fall out if he moved!!! The cabin and bathroom smelt of sewerage and after complaining an engineer was sent to resolve it. Apparently the toilet outlet flow was not working so of course sewerage was stagnant!!! Marketplace Buffet resembled a cattle market with queuing at various food stations for ages only for the food to be cold when you finally found a table. I cannot understand why they don’t put the egg counter next to the hot breakfast? You queue for ages to get your bacon and sausages etc only to go half way around the buffet to queue again for the fried eggs !! Bar facilities and seating areas in all bars far too inadequate for all the passengers on board . Apparently there were 5,800 passengers on board. The popular Virtuosa lounge bar had approx 50 seats so we never got a seat and table and my partner is partially disabled needing walking aids. Food cold in most restaurants although we were lucky sometimes to get hot breakfast when we used the Minuetto restaurant. Sun deck on Deck 15 inadequate for amount of passengers. No space in pool and definitely unable to get a sun bed as these were being reserved by passengers for days by putting towels and personal items on them. Internet package very expensive so we didn’t use After first day I decided to buy a drinks oackage. On checking the price Guest Services told me it was £600 each person in the cabin. I immediately said NO as my partner does not drink owing to health issues. When we checked our on board account we noticed that not only was there pending amount £1077 but they had taken it twice along with other amounts of £250 and £850 and we had only just started our cruise!!!! We contacted our bank to try and block it being taken and the fraud team at our bank got involved. All very stressful and spoiling our long awaited holiday following my partners several surgeries and hospital stays. Eventually after visiting Guest Services daily to see what was being done about our account the lower amounts were removed but the amount of £2,154 was not removed until the last day of cruise. On a positive side members of the restaurant staff were helpful and pleasant. Some of the shows were good and several were awful with passengers walking out of the theatre half way through the show. Shops not carrying sufficient everyday items. Considering the ship was designed for families there were no shops that sold items for children.
We enjoyed our stay on the Virtuosa as we did what we wanted and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would use MSC again but not the Virtuosa due to the food in the market place.
Very limited plan of ship resources. My MSC ship layout was inoperative
Food allergies badly catered for meaning for those with medical dietary requirements it is difficult or impossible to eat as a family at many resteruants, or impossible at the buffet and snack areas. Hiden charges, such as bus transfers at ports, movies for kids, billing issues. Lack of sun longer due to the towel hoggers and lack of enforcement which states clearly this is not allowed. The kids club did not have a clear or varied programme meaning it was the same everyday which on a 2 week cruise could have been much better planned an organised. It should be said the kids club staff were great.
Good range of activities for families. The public areas of the ship were attractive and enjoyable to be in. Our cabin had a shower that leaked under the door leaving a permanent wet patch. The shower seal was black with mould as was the sink plug. Food was sometimes good and sometimes mediocre, but always with a good choice. Main areas of the ship looked stunning, staff were pleasant and helpful. Pool decks were dangerously slippery when wet and best negotiated in regular footwear or barefoot.
Fabulous company fabulous ships
No the best ,if you love queuing then this is the ship for you ….🤔
After being on virtuoso 3 years in a row was toatally disgusting that children running around the ship no security to stop mayhem they were causing on this ship
Language Barriers Food not nice. We normally like most food on a ship, and have to try to pick the best. But this cruise we were looking down the menu to try to pick something we can eat
Amazing ship, plenty to keep all the family happy and entertained, brilliant clubs for kids of all ages, lots of food choice. Staff friendly and cannot do enough for you. Cannot wait to embark again!
