Mint is a quality service provider at a reasonable price. It also offers some excellent phone deals. What's not to like about that?!

When they sell you, everything sounds great. I wish I had seen these previous reviews first. On 7/29, Mint Mobile charged my card $802.94. This was to cover a Samsung S25 and a year of service. As I a... See more

The same service at a much better price!
I get warnings before I run out of data and I don't need an unlimited plan to have high speeds.
Well, for starters, when I signed up with Mint for the $15 a month / 5GB plan in November 2023, they charged me for 2 lines when I only needed 1. When I brought this to their attention, they seemed to have completely dismissed it. I had to prepay for 3 months for both lines, $90 total so there was $45 I lost, tried to get back and was unsuccessful. Then they sent me a Christmas Card in December 2024. Thankful for that, I was, appreciative. That’s cool. So, since I believe in Christmas and love greeting cards myself, I decided to send them one as well. They returned it, citing that the address I sent it to was undeliverable by the postal service. ???? Ok ???? (What…? I thought that was the correct address…) So I don’t know what else to say, other than “I guess.” Honestly, I was offended by that. Really , I don’t really know what else to say about that. I originally was going to drop them as soon as my 12 month prepaid plan expired. But the reasons why I decided to keep them was Because I needed to keep my number, and I saw that it was an inconvenience for me to get my account number and PIN code from them, and I also had a hard time finding a better solution. So…,*as I make raspberry noises* “I guess.” One more thing. They have a “Fox Bot” that gives you answers to frequently asked questions, and when I typed in “get my account number” and then “port out” then “all of a sudden” they wanted me to talk to a customer service representative!!! Yeah, where was this attention to detail when I was trying to get a refund on that extra line that I didn’t need?? If I had a wife, or a teenager, then I’d be happy to give it to one of them, but I don’t. And therefore only needed 1 line. Maybe I’ll find something better along the way. But until then. Stay strong and make Colorado great again!!!! So there. This is my honest review, I stand tall, I take the blows, and I’m doing it my way, and I say, not in a shy way.
I get what I pay for at a reasonable price not $60-70 per month
Mint is great. I love that it's not tied to any specific phone provider, doesn't force long term contacts or entanglement with other products like phones, and keeps its pricing transparent and consistent over time. I've traveled to obscure places within the US and have experienced no gaps in coverage. All of this for just about the cheapest plan on the market.
The ease of switching, the savings...did I mention the $$avings!!!?? And most importantly Ive never experienced lack of service! I shld be a spokesperson for Mint 😅 but for real quit being dumb and spending all that money you cld be saving instead!!
Affordable for low income
I paid for mint mobile service a year at a time. I was with mint for 3 or 4 years. I took a job at Yellowstone National Park where there is no AT&T coverage. I was forced to switch carriers. I called mint mobile to ask them if they would reimburse me for the remainder of year I had already paid, they said no. I asked if they would at least suspend the paid months until I return home to Michigan at the end of the summer; they said no. So mint mobile just stole about $200 of my money. I’ll never go back. They have lost this customer over $200. After posting this review, mint mobile asked me to call them back so they could resolve this issue. I called back 5-29-25 and was on hold for 15 minutes and was disconnected with no resolution.
I have just joined Mint and trying to get my account corrected and only get automated-AI options. No where does it give you option to talk to a live rep. They need to have other option selection for customer service to help resolve problems
I just switched over to Mint Mobile. I was told "Your TCL Flip Pro is a perfect fit with our service." Turns out I can't receive calls or texts. They now say my phone is only partially compatible and that I need to buy a new device. I called Mint and tech was able to correct issue without my having to purchase another phone.
I switched to Mint Mobile and was excited for the savings. I did not realize that I wasn’t receiving all of my texts. How could I have known I was not getting messages within the 7 day money back period, if I couldn’t see that a text wasn’t received? On day 9 I realized my family thread had been awful quiet and my sister’s texts were not making sense. I reached out to my sister (the only android user) with a screenshot of the thread asking her if I was missing any texts. She then sent me 5 pages of screenshots with multiple messages and pictures I was missing from the rest of the group (remaining 4 are iPhone users). I reached out to Mint tech support and spent 8 hours total (in one day) on the phone between their techs (7 different techs) and transferring me to Apple care (3 different times). Ultimately, Mint told me it wasn’t their service/issue, that it was an issue with my phone and since I could make & receive calls, send & receive texts they weren’t going to help me any further. After 8 hours back and forth I made the switch to Visible by Verizon and the texts were IMMEDIATELY fixed/resolved. It was not an issue with my phone. In order to sign up for Mint I had to pay in full for three months which was $64. I am asking for a refund but it isn’t within the 7 day money back period and I haven’t heard anything back from Mint. I am very disappointed UPDATE: Mint processed a full refund. I am very pleased with this. I changed my review from a 1 star to a 3 star.
Poor cellular service that is consistently 1 or 2 bars. 1 is dead in the water. They can call it 2g or 3g but it’s nothing and shouldn’t even register on the scale because no activity can continue on 1 bar. Be sure to try the trial period if they offer one, and particularly where you spend most of your time using it. For me it’s get on the road in search of a place to get better service. Also, and the curious plus - if I stream movies then the miracle happens and it gets better with just an occasional spinning circle, but get out and write/send an email or check your checking account balance and you wait for that 2nd bar to appear and hope your session doesn’t get hung up, or drive to the nearest branch of your bank. No exaggeration. T-Mobile is supposedly so good with their network, but don’t believe it until you can verify it. I’m sure there are great areas like all the big 3 but be sure before you give them your money and wind up aggravated on the phone…
the suppoust to have a link for referral and it never works and when you call for help they couldn't help you
The bottom line is unlimited data is 40/mos after you get the introductory price. I was already paying that but switched as my brother loves Mint. Well, he pays the lowest rate as he doesn't utilize his phone like I do as I need to send pictures via text to work email for customer reasons. I couldn't do this once I switched and after discussing this issue with Mint CS they said it's a T-Mobile issue as I had transferred but they said I still must be connected. Well it wasn't a T-Mobile issue as obviously I was on this plan for a few weeks and transferred and disconnect from them. So I called Mint again, they say it's an Apple issue as I have an IPHONE. A gal from Apple spent 30 minutes, took over my phone and tried everything to fix it, not an Apple issue, it's a Mint issue. So bottom line is I didn't like them passing the buck and not trying to fix or resolve this issue. I've always been able to text a picture to my work and personal email. I thought not a huge deal, but I went to Xfinity as I have a small bundle already and got an excellent deal from them AND sending the pictures to my emails works! So yes, it was a Mint issue. I'm paying the same with Xfinity as I would have with unlimited data with Mint (of course minus the introductory rate they give you). I also had some slower connections too with Mint. Also, they wouldn't give me a refund as I was just a little over 32 days in and she said that you have to cancel within 7 days. I said seriously, how would anyone know if they like a plan in a week?! So yep, I'm out $60.
Every time I sign up for a plan (no other choice, although next time I'll do my research to find a better, price comparable alternative) but every time, I think about what happens during a power outage. Right now, at 2:30 in the morning, my power is out and we are having a major storm. I can't get online to see what's happening. Every time I really need the service, I can't get it to work. The internet is awful. It's unsafe. It puts my life in danger and that makes it not such a great deal.
3 days and hours of dealing with this company and I’ve asked for a refund. Do NOT waste your time here. Go elsewhere!**** since I cannot reply below, Mint why would I call again? Make it 4 days of wasted time. I’ve seen this episode before. Again thanks but no thanks!
Data runs too fast
I joined because I saw a commercial that said $15 per month was unlimited service. Now you’re charging me $25 per month and I have to pay 3 months at a time. Very disappointing!
Great service at a great price!! i was able to pay for the year using Paypal !! very convenient! Thank you
